5. Installation and Setup
5.1 Installation Environment
For general use, if the ceiling height is below 6m, the protection area is 20m². The alarm should be installed on the ceiling.
5.2 Installation Method
- Make two mounting holes 60mm apart on the ceiling. Fix the device base using the provided expansion plugs and screws.
- Rotate the alarm counterclockwise to remove the base. Insert the batteries into the battery compartment at the bottom of the alarm, ensuring correct polarity as indicated by the battery buckle direction.
- Press and hold the self-test button. The alarm indicator should light up and emit an alarm sound, indicating normal operation. If abnormal, check battery installation or voltage (below 2.6V).
- After testing, rotate the detector clockwise onto the base until it is securely tightened.
5.3 Network Configuration (Tuya App)
The device connects directly to your Wi-Fi network, no gateway required.
- Download the App: Search for "Smart Life" or "Tuya Smart" in your app store or scan the QR code provided in the full PDF manual to download the application. Register and log in.
- Prepare for Pairing: Connect your mobile phone to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enable Bluetooth.
- Enter Pairing Mode: Long press the "TEST" button on the smoke sensor for 5 seconds. Release it when the LED indicator flashes and a "beep" sound is heard. The device is now in network configuration state.
- Add Device in App: Open the "Smart Life" APP. Press the "+" button in the top right corner to add a device.
- Select Sensor Type: Slide down the screen to refresh the device list or manually select "Sensors" then "Sensor (BLE+Wi-Fi)".
- Confirm Indicator: The app will prompt you to confirm the indicator status. Select "Blink Quickly".
- Connect to Wi-Fi: Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network password and press "Next". The app will begin searching for and adding the device.
- Completion: Once the device is successfully added, press "Done". The app will switch to the main interface, showing your smoke sensor.
6. Operating Instructions
- Standby: In normal standby state, the red LED flashes once every 60 seconds.
- Smoke Alarm: When smoke particles reach the alarm threshold, the device enters alarm mode. The buzzer emits a "beep, beep, beep" sound, the red LED indicator flashes, and the APP sends a smoke alarm warning to your phone. The alarm ceases when smoke concentration falls below the threshold.
- Mute Function: During an alarm, a brief press of the test key activates mute mode. The red LED indicator flashes, and the mute period lasts approximately 10 minutes. Warning: Ensure you use the mute function only in a safe state.
- Low Power Alert: The red LED indicator flashes once every 55 seconds, accompanied by a "beep" sound, indicating low battery. The APP will display a low power warning, and your mobile phone will receive a push notification. Replace the battery within 7 days.
- Alarm Testing: Press the test key once to trigger a sound and light alarm (red LED flashing and buzzer sound). The APP will also send a test alarm notification. This confirms the buzzer, battery, and Wi-Fi module are functioning correctly.
7. Maintenance
- If a fault occurs during use, contact the supplier immediately. Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the device yourself to prevent accidents.
- If the alarm will not be used for an extended period, remove it, take out the batteries, and store it in its original packaging in a ventilated and dry place.

9. User Tips
- Remote Muting: If the alarm is triggered, you can silence it directly from the Smart Life or Tuya app on your smartphone. This is useful for quickly managing false alarms or during testing.
10. Transportation and Storage
- During transportation and storage, ensure the original packaging and manufacturer's sealing remain intact. Protect the product from severe impacts.
- The stacking height of packaged units should not exceed 6 layers. For unpacked single units, the stacking height should not exceed 5 layers.
