2. Two-Way Communication (One-Way Talk)

The outdoor camera has a built-in microphone. 3. Motion Detection (PIR)

The device features PIR motion detection. When motion is detected, the device will automatically take a picture and/or record a video, and send an alert to your smartphone app. Be aware that if PIR is constantly active, the battery life will be significantly reduced (approximately 1200 activations on a full battery).

4. Cloud Storage and TF Card Recording

Recordings can be saved to a TF card (if installed) or uploaded to cloud storage (subscription may be required). Manage your storage preferences and view recorded events through the Tuya Smart app.

5. Smart Home Integration

The Smart Door Viewer is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. You can use voice commands to wake up the device and view the live feed on compatible smart displays. For example, "Alexa, show me doorbell."

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the indoor monitor and outdoor camera lens. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Management: Recharge the built-in lithium battery regularly to ensure continuous operation. The device has ultra-low power consumption, but frequent use of features like PIR motion detection will deplete the battery faster.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the Tuya Smart app periodically for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • TF Card Management: If using a TF card, regularly back up important recordings and format the card to maintain performance.

Troubleshooting

  • Device not powering on: Ensure the battery is fully charged. Connect the monitor to a USB power source.
  • No live view/App connection issues:
    • Check your Wi-Fi connection. Ensure it is a 2.4GHz network.
    • Restart the indoor monitor and your Wi-Fi router.
    • Ensure the device is within range of your Wi-Fi router.
    • Re-pair the device with the Tuya Smart app if necessary.
  • Poor image quality: Clean the camera lens. Ensure there is adequate lighting.
  • PIR motion detection not working: Check settings in the Tuya Smart app to ensure PIR is enabled. Adjust sensitivity if needed. Ensure the camera is not obstructed.
  • Short battery life: Frequent use of live view, motion detection, or night vision will consume more power. Reduce PIR sensitivity or frequency if battery life is a concern. Ensure the device is fully charged.
  • No audio: Ensure the microphone is not obstructed. Check app settings for audio permissions. Remember the outdoor camera does not have a speaker for two-way audio.

User Tips

  • Optimize PIR: If you experience rapid battery drain, consider adjusting the PIR motion detection sensitivity in the app or setting it to activate only during specific hours.
  • Wi-Fi Signal: For best performance, ensure your door is within good range of your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Weak signals can lead to delays in notifications and live view.
  • App Notifications: Enable notifications for the Tuya Smart app on your phone to receive instant alerts for doorbell presses and motion detection.
  • Regular Charging: Establish a routine for charging the indoor monitor to avoid unexpected power loss.
