Setup and First Use

Battery Installation

The thermometer requires two No. 7 (AAA) batteries (D.C. 3V). Open the battery compartment, insert the batteries according to the polarity indicators, and close the compartment securely.

Initial Power On

Press the 'SCAN' button to power on the device. The display will show a self-test sequence before entering measurement mode.

Operating Instructions

This thermometer offers three measurement modes: Ear, Forehead, and Object temperature.

Forehead Temperature Measurement

  1. Ensure the probe cap is on the thermometer.
  2. Gently place the thermometer against the center of the forehead.
  3. Press the 'SCAN' button.
  4. Hold still until a beep sounds, indicating the measurement is complete.
  5. Read the temperature displayed on the screen.

Ear Temperature Measurement

  1. Remove the probe cap. The thermometer will automatically switch to ear temperature mode.
  2. Gently insert the probe into the ear canal.
  3. Press the 'SCAN' button.
  4. Hold still until a beep sounds, indicating the measurement is complete.
  5. Read the temperature displayed on the screen.

Note: Ear temperature is generally considered closer to standard body temperature. Ensure the ear canal is clear before measurement.

Object Temperature Measurement

  1. With the probe cap on, press the 'M' button (memory button) on the side to cycle through modes until the object temperature icon appears.
  2. Point the thermometer at the object (e.g., milk bottle, room surface) from a short distance.
  3. Press the 'SCAN' button.
  4. Read the temperature displayed on the screen.

Night Measurement Mode (LED Soft Light)

The thermometer features an LED soft light behind the probe, allowing for measurements in the dark without disturbing the user or requiring additional lighting.

Memory Function

The device can store up to 32 sets of measurement data. To enter memory mode, long press the 'M' button for 4 seconds. You can then scroll through previous readings.

High Temperature Warning

If the measured temperature is 37.8°C or higher, the thermometer will emit 6 rapid short beeps, indicating a possible high fever. It is recommended to consult a doctor in such cases.

Maintenance and Care

  • Clean the thermometer probe with an alcohol swab or a soft cloth dampened with alcohol before and after each use.
  • Do not immerse the thermometer in water or any other liquid.
  • Store the thermometer in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.

Troubleshooting

  • No power: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are not depleted. Replace if necessary.
  • Inaccurate readings: Ensure the probe is clean and correctly positioned for the chosen measurement mode. Avoid taking measurements immediately after physical activity or bathing.
  • Device not responding: Remove and reinsert batteries. If the issue persists, contact customer support.

User Tips

  • For consistent forehead readings, ensure the probe cap is always on and the thermometer is placed firmly but gently on the forehead.
  • When taking ear temperature, gently pull the earlobe slightly back and up (for adults) or back and down (for children) to straighten the ear canal for better accuracy.
  • Allow the thermometer to acclimate to room temperature for at least 30 minutes if it has been stored in a significantly different environment.
  • To conserve battery life, the thermometer automatically shuts down after 60 seconds of inactivity.
