- Power On: Start your vehicle. The dash cam should automatically power on and begin recording.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Basic Operation
- Power On/Off: The dash cam typically powers on automatically when your vehicle starts and powers off when the engine is turned off. You can also manually power it on/off using the power button.
- Recording: The device automatically starts loop recording upon power-on. Videos are recorded in 1/3/5 minute segments. When the memory card is full, the oldest files will be overwritten.
- G-Sensor: The built-in G-Sensor detects sudden impacts or collisions. In such an event, the current recording will be automatically locked to prevent it from being overwritten.
- Parking Monitor: The dash cam supports parking monitoring. This feature requires a hardwired kit (if not included, sold separately) to provide continuous power when the vehicle is off.
4.2 Touch Screen Interface
The X5 features a touch screen for easy navigation and settings adjustment. Tap icons to access various functions like Wi-Fi, Parking Mode, G-Sensor settings, GPS information, screen saver, and driving mode.

4.3 Voice Control
The dash cam supports voice commands for hands-free operation. Common commands include:
- "Take Picture"
- "Lock the Video"
- "Show Front Camera"

4.4 App Control & Data Transfer
The X5 features built-in 5.8GHz Wi-Fi for faster data transmission and app control. Download the WOLFBOX app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Connect to App: Connect your smartphone to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network.
- View/Download Footage: Use the app to view live footage, playback recorded videos, and download files to your phone. The 5.8GHz Wi-Fi allows for significantly faster download speeds (up to 4X faster than traditional 2.4GHz Wi-Fi).
- GPS Route Tracking: The app also displays GPS data, including accurate location, speed, and route tracking, enhancing your driving experience and safety.

For high-speed data transfer to a computer, you can directly connect the dash cam using a Type-C to Type-C cable, achieving download speeds up to 30MB/s.

5. Maintenance
- Memory Card: Regularly format the memory card (at least once a month) to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Back up any important footage before formatting.
- Cleaning Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently clean the front, rear, and cabin camera lenses. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals that could scratch the lenses.
- Cleaning Screen: Wipe the touch screen with a soft, dry cloth. If necessary, use a screen cleaner specifically designed for electronics.
- Firmware Updates: Check the WOLFBOX official website or app periodically for firmware updates to ensure your dash cam has the latest features and bug fixes.
6. Troubleshooting
- Dash Cam Not Powering On: Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the dash cam and the car charger, and that the car charger is properly inserted into the cigarette lighter socket. Check your vehicle's fuse for the cigarette lighter.
- Recording Issues: If the dash cam is not recording, check if the memory card is inserted correctly and has sufficient free space. Format the memory card if necessary. Ensure loop recording is enabled in settings.
- Poor Video Quality: Clean the camera lenses. Ensure the protective film (if any) has been removed. Check video resolution settings.
- GPS Not Working: Ensure the GPS bracket is properly connected and the dash cam has a clear view of the sky. It may take a few minutes to acquire a GPS signal.
- Wi-Fi Connection Problems: Ensure the dash cam's Wi-Fi is enabled. Try restarting both the dash cam and your smartphone. Make sure you are connecting to the correct Wi-Fi network.
- Screen Freezing/Unresponsive: Try restarting the dash cam by holding down the power button. If the issue persists, perform a factory reset (refer to the full user manual for instructions).

- Regular SD Card Formatting: To maintain optimal recording performance and prevent potential errors, it is highly recommended to format your memory card within the dash cam's settings at least once a month. This helps clear fragmented files and ensures smooth operation.
- Cable Management: Utilize the provided car wire trim tool to neatly tuck away all cables. This not only improves the aesthetics of your car's interior but also prevents cables from interfering with driving or becoming a safety hazard.
- Check Recordings Periodically: Even with automatic loop recording and G-Sensor protection, it's a good practice to periodically review your recordings, especially after long trips or incidents, to ensure everything is functioning as expected and important footage is saved.
- Optimal Placement: When mounting, ensure the dash cam has a clear view of the road ahead and the cabin. For the rear camera, ensure it's positioned to capture the widest possible view without obstruction.
