5.2 Mounting the Laser Level

The Huepar ZK04CG can be mounted in various ways:

  • Tripod Mounting: Use the 1/4"-20 thread on the bottom of the laser level to attach it to the Huepar TPD14A Tripod or any compatible tripod.
  • Magnetic Bracket: The included magnetic bracket allows for quick positioning on metal surfaces. It features fine-tuning knobs for precise adjustments (up/down, left/right, back/forth, and 360° rotation). The back clip can be adjusted to mount on objects up to 1.97 inches (5cm) thick.
  • Lifting Base: For floor applications, the lifting base can raise the laser lines from 0.83 inches to 3.2 inches off the surface.

6. Operating Modes

6.1 Self-leveling Mode

To activate self-leveling mode, unlock the pendulum. The laser tool will automatically level itself within a compensation range of ±3°. If the tool is outside this range, the laser beam(s) will blink approximately every 3-5 seconds to indicate it is not self-leveling.

6.2 Manual Mode

To use manual mode, lock the pendulum. This disables the self-leveling function, allowing you to position the laser level at any desired angle. This is useful for tasks like installing handrails or angled decorations.

6.3 Pulse Mode

Pulse mode extends the working range of the laser level, especially in brighter outdoor conditions, when used with a compatible Huepar Line Laser Detector (LR-8RG/LR-5RG/LR-6RG).

  1. After powering on the device, short press the "Pv" button to toggle the pulse mode ON/OFF.
  2. When pulse mode is activated, the laser beams may appear dimmer to the naked eye but are optimized for detection by the laser receiver.
  3. The pulse mode allows for a working range of 40-60m (197Ft) with a laser receiver.

6.4 Line Switching and Remote Control

The Huepar ZK04CG features 4 x 360° laser lines (two horizontal and two vertical) for comprehensive coverage.

  1. Short press the "H" and "V" buttons on the keypad of the laser level to switch the Horizontal and Vertical laser lines separately.
  2. The included remote control allows for individual selection of the 4 x 360° laser lines from a distance of up to 32.8Ft.
  3. The remote control can also temporarily turn OFF the laser line(s) if needed.

6.5 360° Horizontal Floor Laser

The device generates a 360° horizontal floor laser line at the bottom, capable of projecting an ultra-low horizontal line (1/2 inch from the ground). This feature is ideal for precise layout of tiles, stone, brick, carpet, and hardwood flooring.

7. Maintenance

  • Keep the laser level clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Store the device in its hard carry case when not in use to protect it from impacts and environmental factors.
  • Ensure the pendulum is locked during transport to prevent damage to the internal components.
  • Regularly check the battery for any signs of damage or leakage.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Laser lines blinking in self-leveling mode: This indicates the device is outside its ±3° self-leveling range. Adjust the position of the laser level until it is within the acceptable range.
  • Dim laser lines: In pulse mode, laser lines are intentionally dimmer for use with a laser receiver. If not in pulse mode, check battery level or ensure the environment is not excessively bright.
  • Device not powering on: Check if the battery is properly inserted and fully charged.

9. User Tips

  • For optimal visibility in bright conditions or over long distances, always use the pulse mode with a compatible Huepar laser receiver.
  • When working on delicate surfaces or requiring very precise height adjustments, utilize the lifting base.
  • The magnetic bracket's fine-tuning knobs are crucial for micro-adjustments; take your time to get the perfect alignment.
  • Always lock the pendulum before moving the laser level to prevent damage to the internal self-leveling mechanism.
