5.2 Mounting Options

The laser level offers versatile mounting options for different applications:

  • Magnetic Bracket (PV3 Bracket): Use the included 180° magnetic bracket to attach the laser level to metal surfaces.
  • Tripod Mounting: The device features a 1/4"-20 mount thread, allowing it to be mounted on a standard tripod (tripod not included).
  • Lifting Base: The included lifting base allows for precise height adjustments, especially useful for floor tiling or skirting board installation. It raises laser lines from 0.83 inches to 3.2 inches.

6. Operating Modes

The Huepar ZK04CG-L offers multiple operating modes to suit different tasks.

6.1 Self-Leveling Mode

This mode automatically levels the laser lines within its compensation range (±3°).

  1. Unlock the pendulum by sliding the lock switch to the unlocked position.
  2. Place the laser level on a stable surface. The device will automatically self-level.
  3. If the device is outside its ±3° self-leveling range, the laser beam(s) will blink approximately every 3-5 seconds to indicate it is not self-leveling. Adjust the position of the laser level until it is within range and the lines stabilize.

Figure 7: Self-leveling and Manual modes.

6.2 Manual Mode

Manual mode allows you to project laser lines at any desired angle, useful for tasks like building stairs or installing shelves.

  1. Lock the pendulum by sliding the lock switch to the locked position. This disables the self-leveling function.
  2. Position the laser level at the desired angle. The laser lines will remain fixed at that angle.

6.3 Line Switching

The ZK04CG-L features four 360° laser lines (two horizontal and two vertical) that can be controlled independently.

  • On-device Control: Short press the "H" and "V" buttons on the keypad of the laser level to switch the Horizontal and Vertical laser lines separately.
  • Remote Control: Use the included remote control to select the 4 x 360° laser lines individually from a distance of up to 32.8 feet. The remote also allows you to temporarily turn off laser lines when needed.

6.4 Pulse Mode (Outdoor Use)

For working in brighter conditions or extending the working range, activate Pulse Mode.

  1. After powering on the device, short press the "Pv" button on the keypad or remote control to turn ON/OFF the pulse mode.
  2. When activated, the laser beams may appear dimmer to the naked eye.
  3. In Pulse Mode, the working range can be extended up to 40-60m (197Ft.) when used with a Huepar Line Laser Detector (e.g., LR-8RG/LR-5RG/LR-6RG, sold separately).

6.5 Using the Lifting Base and Target Plate

The lifting base and green target plate enhance usability and visibility.

  • Lifting Base: This accessory is ideal for tasks requiring ultra-low horizontal lines, such as tiling, stone laying, or installing skirting boards. It allows the laser lines to be projected from 0.83 inches to 3.2 inches above the surface.
  • Green Target Plate: Use the target plate to enhance the visibility of the laser line, especially in bright conditions or over longer distances.

7. Maintenance

  • Keep the laser level clean and dry. Wipe off any dust or debris with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Store the device in its hard carry case when not in use to protect it from impacts and environmental factors.
  • Ensure the pendulum is locked during transport to prevent damage to the internal components.
  • Regularly check the battery for any signs of damage or leakage.
  • If the device is not used for an extended period, charge the battery periodically to maintain its lifespan.
