8. Troubleshooting

Tester does not power on:
Ensure the alligator clips are securely connected to the correct battery terminals (red to positive, black to negative). The battery must have at least 8V for the tester to power on.
Inaccurate readings:
Check that the battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion. Ensure the clips have a good connection. Verify that the correct battery type and CCA rating are entered into the tester if prompted.
Tester displays 'Reverse Connection':
This indicates the clips are connected to the wrong battery terminals. Disconnect immediately and re-connect with the red clip to positive (+) and black clip to negative (-). The device has built-in protection against reverse polarity.

9. User Tips

  • Regular Checks: Perform battery tests regularly, especially before long trips or during seasonal changes, to prevent unexpected breakdowns.
  • Engine Off for Battery Test: Always ensure the vehicle's engine is off and the ignition key is in the OFF position when performing a battery test to get accurate readings.
  • Language Setting: The device supports multiple languages. If the display is not in your preferred language, navigate to the 'Setup' menu to change it.
  • Portability: The compact size of the KW208 makes it easy to keep in your glove compartment or toolbox, allowing for quick checks anytime, anywhere.
