5.4 General Cleaning and Storage

  • Clean the bicycle regularly with a damp cloth. Avoid using high-pressure washers directly on electrical components.
  • Store the bike in a dry, sheltered area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • The bicycle has an IPX4 waterproof rating, meaning it is resistant to splashing water from any direction, but it should not be submerged.

6. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your ENGWE P1 electric bicycle.

  • Bike not powering on: Check if the battery is properly seated and charged. Ensure all connections are secure.
  • Motor not assisting: Verify that the pedal assist level is not set to zero. Check battery level. Ensure the motor cable is securely connected.
  • Reduced range: This can be due to low tire pressure, riding in higher assist levels, frequent use of pure electric mode, or riding against strong headwinds. Ensure proper tire inflation and consider using lower assist levels for longer rides.
  • Brakes feel weak: Inspect brake pads for wear. Check brake cable tension and adjust if necessary.
  • Unusual noises: Inspect for loose components, rubbing parts (e.g., brake pads on rotor), or chain issues.
