6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press the Home button (usually the central logo button) to turn on the gamepad.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the Home button for a few seconds until the gamepad powers off. The gamepad will also automatically power off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery.

6.2 Button Functions

The G6pro features standard gamepad buttons:

  • ABXY Buttons: Action buttons.
  • D-Pad: Directional input.
  • Left/Right Analog Sticks: For movement and camera control.
  • L1/R1 (Bumpers): Shoulder buttons.
  • L2/R2 (Triggers): Analog triggers with Hall-Linear technology.
  • START/BACK/FN/TURBO: System and special function buttons.
  • HOME Button: Powers on/off the gamepad and accesses system menus on compatible platforms.

6.3 Trigger Lock Function

The G6pro features a 2-Section Trigger Lock, allowing you to switch between micro-switch (short travel) and linear (full travel) trigger modes. This is ideal for adapting to different game types, such as FPS (short travel for quick shots) or racing games (full travel for precise acceleration).

  • Locate the trigger lock switches (usually on the underside or back of the gamepad, near the triggers).
  • Toggle the switches to select your desired trigger travel distance.

6.4 Vibration Modes

The gamepad offers three magnetic wave trigger vibration modes. These modes provide different haptic feedback intensities and patterns. Refer to the gamepad's specific documentation or companion software (if available) for how to cycle through or customize these modes.

6.5 Somatosensory Control

The G6pro includes native somatosensory optimization for motion control. This feature is particularly useful on platforms like Nintendo Switch. Ensure your device and game support somatosensory input for this feature to function.

7. Customization

7.1 Hot-Swappable Hall Rockers

The G6pro allows you to easily swap out the analog stick modules. This feature is beneficial for replacing worn-out sticks or customizing the feel and response of your gamepad.

  1. Power off the gamepad before attempting to swap rockers.
  2. Carefully pull the existing rocker cap straight up to remove it.
  3. Gently pull the entire rocker module straight up from its socket.
  4. Align the pins of the new rocker module with the socket and push it down firmly until it clicks into place.
  5. Replace the rocker cap.
  6. Power on the gamepad. The Hall effect rockers are designed to self-calibrate, but if you experience any drift, refer to the troubleshooting section.

8. User Tips

  • Rocker Calibration: The Hall effect joysticks are designed for high precision and can self-calibrate if minor offsets occur. If you notice persistent drift, try powering off and on the gamepad, or consult the troubleshooting section for manual calibration steps if available through software.
  • Charging: For optimal battery life, use the provided USB-C cable and a standard 5V/1A or 5V/2A charger. Avoid using fast chargers that may exceed the gamepad's recommended input.
  • Customization for FPS: For first-person shooter games, consider using the micro-switch trigger lock setting for faster response times on your L2/R2 buttons. Experiment with different hot-swappable rocker types to find the sensitivity and feel that best suits your playstyle.

9. Troubleshooting

9.1 Gamepad Not Connecting

  • 2.4G Wireless: Ensure the 2.4G receiver is securely plugged into a USB port. Try a different USB port. Make sure the gamepad is in 2.4G mode and within range of the receiver.
  • Bluetooth: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device. Forget the device in your Bluetooth settings and try pairing again. Make sure the gamepad is in Bluetooth pairing mode.
  • Wired: Try a different USB cable or USB port on your device. Ensure the cable is fully inserted into both the gamepad and the device.

9.2 Joystick Drift or Unresponsiveness

  • Self-Calibration: Hall effect joysticks often self-calibrate. Power off the gamepad, wait a few seconds, then power it back on.
  • Rocker Re-seating: If you recently swapped rockers, ensure they are fully and correctly seated in their sockets.
  • Software Calibration: Check if Machenike provides a companion software for PC that includes a joystick calibration tool.

9.3 Buttons Not Responding

  • Ensure the gamepad is properly connected and powered on.
  • Test the buttons in a different game or system menu to rule out software-specific issues.
  • If only specific buttons are affected, there might be a hardware issue.

9.4 Gamepad Not Charging

  • Ensure the USB-C cable is correctly connected to both the gamepad and the power source.
  • Try a different USB-C cable and/or a different power adapter/USB port.
  • Ensure the power source is active and providing sufficient power.

10. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the gamepad. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: Store the gamepad in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the gamepad frequently. If storing for an extended period, charge the battery to about 50-70% and recharge every few months.
  • Rocker Care: When swapping rockers, handle them gently to avoid bending pins or damaging the sockets.

11. Warranty and Support

For warranty information, technical support, or service inquiries, please refer to the official Machenike website or contact the retailer from whom you purchased the product. Keep your proof of purchase for warranty claims.
