Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Jebao Jebato-150 ATO Smart Refill System. This device is designed to automatically maintain a stable water level in your aquarium or sump, compensating for evaporation and ensuring a healthy environment for your aquatic life. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and operation to ensure proper use and longevity of your system.

Package Contents
Please verify that all components are present and in good condition:
- DC Refill Pump
- Optical Level Sensor
- Magnetic Sensor Mount
- Power Adapter (100-240V AC input, 12V DC output)
- Tubing (6.5 ft / 200 cm)
- Siphon Break
- Tubing Holder/Clips
- Instruction Manual

Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to correctly install your Jebato-150 ATO system:
- **Prepare Reservoir**: Place the DC Refill Pump into a reservoir filled with fresh top-off water. Ensure the pump is fully submerged.
- **Connect Tubing**: Attach one end of the provided tubing to the outlet of the DC Refill Pump.
- **Install Siphon Break**: Insert the siphon break into the tubing. It is crucial that the siphon break is positioned higher than the water level in your reservoir to prevent back-siphoning when the pump is off.
- **Route Tubing**: Route the tubing from the reservoir to your aquarium or sump. Secure the tubing using the provided clips to prevent kinks or dislodgement.
- **Position Tubing Outlet**: Place the open end of the tubing into your aquarium or sump, ensuring it is above the desired water level.
- **Mount Optical Level Sensor**: Attach the optical level sensor to the side of your aquarium or sump using its magnetic mount. The sensor should be positioned at your desired water level. The sensor is designed for glass thickness up to 1/2 inch (12 mm).
- **Connect Components**: Connect the DC Refill Pump and the Optical Level Sensor to the main control unit (if separate) or directly to the power adapter's appropriate ports.
- **Power On**: Plug the power adapter into a suitable electrical outlet (100-240V AC). The system will initiate and begin monitoring the water level.

Important Notes on Siphon Break:
- The siphon break must be positioned higher than the water level in the reservoir.
- The siphon break allows air to enter the tubing, breaking the siphon effect when the pump turns off.
- Small water drops from the siphon break hole are normal during pump operation.
Operating Instructions
The Jebato-150 ATO system operates automatically. Once installed and powered on, the optical level sensor continuously monitors the water level in your aquarium or sump. When the water level drops below the sensor's detection point (due to evaporation), the system will activate the DC Refill Pump to replenish water from the reservoir until the desired level is reached. The pump will then turn off.
No manual adjustments are typically required for daily operation once the system is properly set up.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your ATO system:
- **Sensor Cleaning**: Periodically clean the optical level sensor to remove any algae, salt creep, or debris that may obstruct its operation. Use a soft cloth or brush.
- **Pump Inspection**: Check the DC Refill Pump for any blockages or debris. Clean the impeller if necessary.
- **Tubing Check**: Inspect the tubing for kinks, blockages, or signs of wear. Ensure all connections are secure and free from leaks.
- **Reservoir Monitoring**: Regularly check the water level in your top-off reservoir to ensure it does not run dry. Operating the pump without water can cause damage.
- **Siphon Break**: Ensure the siphon break remains clear and unobstructed.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your Jebato-150 ATO system, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pump not running when water level is low |
|
|
| Pump runs continuously |
|
|
| Water level is too high/low |
|
|
| Water back-siphons into reservoir |
|

User Tips
- Always ensure your top-off reservoir has sufficient water to prevent the pump from running dry.
- Position the optical sensor carefully to achieve your desired stable water level. A slight adjustment can make a big difference.
- Regularly check the siphon break to ensure it is clear and functioning correctly to prevent accidental siphoning.
- Keep the optical sensor clean from algae or salt creep, as these can interfere with accurate water level detection.
- Consider placing the reservoir below the aquarium/sump to aid in gravity-fed top-off in case of pump failure, though the siphon break should prevent back-siphoning.
