5. Setup and Installation

5.1 SIM Card Installation

  1. Open the SIM card slot cover on the GPS-401B tracker (refer to Figure 2.2).
  2. Insert a 4G LTE compatible SIM card into the slot. Ensure the SIM card is activated and has sufficient data for tracking services.
  3. Close the SIM card slot cover securely to maintain IP67 waterproof rating.
  4. Regional Compatibility: Verify that your SIM card's network bands match the regional version of your tracker (North America, Latin America, or Asia/Europe/Africa). Incorrect regional versions will prevent the SIM card from working.

5.2 Wiring Diagram and Connection

The GPS-401B tracker requires connection to your vehicle's power supply and other components for full functionality. Refer to the wiring diagram below for proper installation.

Wiring Instructions:

  1. Red Wire (+): Connect to the positive terminal of the vehicle's power supply (12V-24V DC).
  2. Black Wire (-): Connect to the negative terminal or ground of the vehicle's power supply.
  3. Yellow Wire (Oil and Power Cut): Connect to the relay for remote oil/power cut functionality. Ensure the relay is correctly wired to the car engine or oil line as shown in the diagram.
  4. White Wire (ACC): Connect to the vehicle's ACC (Accessory) power line. This allows the tracker to detect ignition status.
  5. Violet Wire (SOS): Connect to an SOS button (if applicable) for emergency alerts.
  6. Pink Wire (Alarm Siren): Connect to the alarm siren (if installed) for audible alerts.

Caution: Incorrect wiring can damage the device or vehicle. If you are unsure, seek professional assistance for installation.

6. Operation

6.1 Arming and Disarming

The device can be armed and disarmed using three methods:

  • Remote Controller: Use the provided remote key fob to arm or disarm the tracker.
  • SMS Commands: Send specific SMS commands from a registered phone number to the tracker's SIM card number. Refer to the full manual for a list of commands.
  • Mobile APP: Use the BAANOOL IoT mobile application to remotely arm or disarm the device.

6.2 Real-time Tracking

The GPS-401B supports both GPS and LBS (Location Based Service) for accurate real-time tracking.

  • Mobile APP/Web Platform: Access the BAANOOL IoT platform via the mobile app or web browser to view the vehicle's current location, historical routes, and set up geo-fences.
  • SMS Tracking: Send an SMS command to the tracker, and it will reply with a Google Map link showing its current location.

6.3 Alarm Functions

The tracker is equipped with various alarm features to enhance security:

  • Movement Alarm: Triggers if the vehicle moves outside a set perimeter.
  • Geo-fence Alarm: Alerts when the vehicle enters or exits a predefined geographical area.
  • Vibration Alarm: Detects unauthorized movement or tampering.
  • SOS Alarm: Activated by pressing an SOS button (if connected), sending an emergency alert to pre-set contacts.
  • Overspeed Alarm: Notifies if the vehicle exceeds a set speed limit.

Alarm settings can be configured through the mobile APP or web platform.

7. Mobile App and Web Platform

7.1 Downloading the Mobile APP

To download the BAANOOL IoT mobile application:

  1. Scan the QR code provided in the product packaging or on the web platform.
  2. Alternatively, search for "BAANOOL IoT" in Google Play Store (for Android) or Apple App Store (for iOS) and download the application.

7.2 Registering and Logging In

The account name and password are the same for both the mobile app and the web version.

  1. Register: Open the BAANOOL IoT APP or visit the web platform at www.baanoool.net to register a new account.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to enter your details, including IMEI number (required), account name, password, and mobile phone number for verification.
  3. Login: After successful registration, use your account credentials to log in to the mobile app or web platform.

7.3 Binding Device

Once logged in, follow the instructions within the app or web platform to bind your GPS-401B tracker to your account. This typically involves entering the device's IMEI number.

8. Maintenance

  • Keep Dry: The device is IP67 waterproof, but prolonged exposure to extreme moisture or submersion beyond its rating should be avoided.
  • Clean Gently: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
  • Check Connections: Periodically inspect all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.

Q: The device is not tracking or showing an incorrect location.
A: Check if the device is properly powered and all wiring connections are secure. Ensure the device has a clear line of sight to the sky for GPS signal reception. Verify that the SIM card has an active data connection for transmitting location data.
Q: Alarms are not triggering.
A: Check the alarm settings within the BAANOOL IoT mobile app or web platform. Ensure the alarm conditions (e.g., geo-fence boundaries, speed limits, vibration sensitivity) are correctly configured and enabled.
Q: The remote control is not working.
A: Check the battery in the remote control. Ensure the remote is within range of the tracker. If issues persist, try re-pairing the remote with the tracker according to the full manual's instructions.

10. User Tips

  • SIM Card Choice: Always double-check the regional version of your tracker against your local network bands before purchasing a SIM card. This is crucial for proper functionality.
  • Siren Functionality: Note that the siren is an optional accessory. If you require an audible alarm, ensure your package includes the siren or purchase it separately.
