5. Setup

5.1. For Android Devices

  1. Download the App: Search for "ThermCam" on Google Play Store and install the application on your Android smartphone or tablet.
  2. Enable OTG: Ensure your Android device supports OTG (On-The-Go) functionality and that it is enabled in your device settings if required.
  3. Connect the Camera: Plug the AMPBANK M256 camera directly into your device's USB-C charging port. If your device has a different port, use the provided multifunctional adapter cable.
  4. Launch App: Open the "ThermCam" app. The camera feed should appear automatically.

5.2. For Windows Laptops

  1. Download the Software: Visit the official AMPBANK website to download and install the "TCView 2.0" software for Windows.
  2. Connect the Camera: Use the multifunctional adapter cable to connect the AMPBANK M256 camera to a USB port on your Windows laptop.
  3. Launch Software: Open the "TCView 2.0" software. The camera feed should be displayed.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. ThermCam App (Android)

The ThermCam app provides a comprehensive interface for thermal imaging on your Android device.

  • Temperature Measurement: Manually select from three dimensions to monitor temperatures:
    • Point: Measure temperature at a specific point.
    • Line: Detect the highest and lowest temperatures along a defined line.
    • Surface: Identify the highest and lowest temperatures within a selected area.
    You can monitor up to 9 areas simultaneously.
  • Color Palettes: Choose from 9 different color palettes to visualize temperature differences.
  • Image Enhancement: Adjust image sharpness and contrast for clearer and more detailed thermal views.
  • Image Rotation: Rotate the image within the app without physically rotating your phone.
  • Image Fusion: Combine the infrared image with a visible light image captured by your mobile camera for enhanced context.
  • Smart Alerts: Set color and audible alarms for high or low temperature thresholds to quickly detect anomalies.
  • Recording and Capturing: Use the app to record thermal videos and capture still thermal images.
  • Professional Reports: Generate field reports directly from the app. Customize data, add watermarks, and adjust settings for easy sharing.

    4. Ensure no other applications are using the camera simultaneously.
  • Inaccurate temperature readings:

    2. Verify that the measurement distance is within the recommended range (within 16.4ft / 5m).
    3. Check for any environmental factors that might interfere with infrared readings (e.g., reflective surfaces, strong air currents).
    4. Calibrate the camera if the option is available in the app/software.
  • High power consumption on phone:
    1. The camera draws power from your phone. For extended use, ensure your phone is fully charged or connected to a power source.
    2. Close other background applications on your phone to reduce overall power usage.
