2. Wiring Diagram
Carefully follow the wiring diagram below for proper installation. Incorrect wiring can damage the device or the vehicle's electrical system. The tracker operates on a DC voltage range of 9-100V.

Image: Wiring diagram illustrating connections for power, ACC, SOS, alarm siren, and oil/power cut relay.
- Red Wire: Connect to positive power supply (IN 9-100V).
- Black Wire: Connect to negative power supply (-power).
- White Wire: Connect to ACC (Ignition).
- Yellow Wire: Connect to Oil and Power Cut (Relay).
- Violet Wire: Connect to SOS button.
- Pink Wire: Connect to Alarm Siren.
Ensure all connections are secure and insulated to prevent short circuits and water damage.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On and Initializing
Once correctly wired and the SIM card is inserted, the device will power on automatically when the vehicle's ignition is turned on. The tracker will then begin to acquire GPS and LBS signals. The Time To First Fix (TTFF) can vary:
- Hot status (re-acquiring signal): 1 second
- Warm status (recent signal): 35 seconds
- Cold status (first time or long off): 45 seconds

These alarms can be configured via the web platform or mobile app, and some can be armed/disarmed using the remote controller.
Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your GPS Tracker 401D, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Keep Dry: Although the device has an IP67 waterproof rating, avoid prolonged submersion in water. Ensure all covers (e.g., SIM card slot) are securely closed.
- Clean Gently: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use harsh chemicals or solvents.
- Temperature: Operate and store the device within the specified temperature ranges (-20°C to +45°C for operation, -40°C to +85°C for storage). Extreme temperatures can affect battery life and device performance.
- Power Supply: Ensure the power supply to the tracker is stable and within the 9-100V DC range.
- Software Updates: The device supports remote software upgrades. Periodically check the BAANOOL IOT platform or app for available updates to ensure you have the latest features and security patches.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your GPS Tracker 401D, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Device not powering on | Incorrect wiring; no power supply; blown fuse. | Check all wiring connections according to the diagram. Verify vehicle's power supply. Check for any blown fuses in the vehicle's circuit or the tracker's wiring. |
| No GPS signal / Inaccurate location | Device in an area with poor satellite reception (e.g., indoors, underground); GPS antenna obstructed; device not initialized. | Move the vehicle to an open area with a clear view of the sky. Ensure the tracker is not covered by metal objects. Allow sufficient time for the device to acquire a GPS fix (up to 45 seconds for cold start). |
| No network connection / Cannot send SMS | SIM card not inserted correctly; SIM card inactive or no balance; incorrect APN settings; poor cellular coverage. | Reinsert the SIM card correctly. Verify the SIM card is active and has data/SMS credit. Check APN settings (usually configured automatically, but may need manual setup if issues persist). Move to an area with better cellular reception. |
| Web platform/App not showing data | Device not connected to network; incorrect login credentials; server issues. | Ensure the device has a stable network connection (see "No network connection" above). Double-check your login details. Contact BAANOOL support if the issue persists across multiple devices/accounts. |
| Remote controller not working | Remote battery low; remote out of range; device not paired with remote. | Replace the remote controller battery. Ensure you are within the effective range of the remote. Refer to the full manual for remote pairing instructions if necessary. |
User Tips
- Optimal Placement: For best GPS signal reception, install the tracker in a location with minimal metallic obstruction, ideally under the dashboard or a non-metallic part of the vehicle.
- Secure Wiring: After installation, double-check all wiring connections and use electrical tape or heat shrink tubing to secure and insulate them, especially in areas exposed to moisture or vibration.
- Regular Monitoring: Regularly check the device's status and location via the web platform or mobile app to ensure it is functioning correctly.
- Geo-fence for Security: Set up geo-fences around frequently visited locations (home, work) to receive immediate alerts if the vehicle moves unexpectedly.
- Battery Backup: The internal 90mAH Li-ion battery provides backup power. Ensure the main power supply is consistently connected to keep this battery charged.
