4. Setup Instructions

4.1. SIM Card Installation

  1. Locate the SIM card slot on the side of the GPS tracker unit. It is usually covered by a rubber flap.
  2. Open the rubber flap to reveal the SIM card slot and a USB port.
  3. Insert a standard-sized 4G LTE SIM card into the designated slot. Ensure the SIM card is active and has data, SMS, and call capabilities.
  4. Close the rubber flap securely to maintain the device's IP66 waterproof rating.

4.2. Wiring Diagram

The GPS tracker requires proper electrical connection to the vehicle's power system. Refer to the detailed wiring diagram below for correct installation. Professional installation is recommended.

Key Connections:

  • Black Wire: (-) Power (Ground)
  • Red Wire: (+) Power (Constant 12V-24V, with 3A fuse)
  • Green Wire: Door Trigger (Positive trigger)
  • White Wire: ACC (Ignition switch)
  • Blue Wire: Door Trigger (Negative trigger)
  • Pink Wire: Alarm Siren
  • Orange Wire: Microphone (MIC)
  • Violet with Black Wire: Fuel Sensor (0-5V)
  • Brown Wire: Oil and Power Cut (Relay control)
  • Grey Wire: TH Sensor In (Temperature and Humidity sensor input)
  • Yellow Wire: 5V OUT
  • Red-Black Wire: SOS Button
  • Violet Wire: SOS Button

Relay Connection for Oil/Power Cut:

The relay is used to cut off the car's engine or fuel pump. Connect the relay as shown in the diagram:

  1. Connect the White wire from the relay to (+) Car Power.
  2. Connect the Red wire from the relay to the engine side of the fuel pump/engine line.
  3. Connect the Yellow wire from the relay to the fuel pump side of the fuel pump/engine line.
  4. Connect the Brown wire from the tracker to the relay's control input.

4.3. Initial Power-Up

Once the SIM card is installed and wiring is complete, connect the tracker to the vehicle's power supply. The status lights on the tracker unit will indicate its operational status.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. BAANOOL IOT Platform and App

The BAANOOL GPS-405D tracker utilizes the BAANOOL IOT platform for real-time vehicle management. You can access the platform via a web browser or a dedicated mobile application.

5.1.1. Mobile App

Download the BAANOOL IOT app by scanning the QR code below or searching for "BAANOOL IoT" in Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

To register an account:

  1. Open the BAANOOL IOT app.
  2. Click on "Register account".
  3. Enter the required information: IMEI number (found on the tracker unit), desired account name, password, and mobile phone number for password retrieval.
  4. Confirm registration.

5.1.2. Web Platform

Access the BAANOOL IOT web platform at www.baanool.net. Your account name and password are the same as for the mobile app.

5.2. Main Functions

Once logged in, you can utilize the following features:

  • GPS Real-time Positioning: View the current location of your vehicle on the map.
  • Shift Alarm: Receive alerts if the vehicle moves from a parked position.
  • Electronic Fence (Geo-fence): Set up virtual boundaries and get notifications when the vehicle enters or exits these areas.
  • Speed Alarm: Be alerted if the vehicle exceeds a predefined speed limit.
  • Door Status Monitoring: Monitor the open/closed status of vehicle doors.
  • ACC Status Monitoring: Check if the vehicle's ignition is on or off.
  • Vibration Alarm: Receive alerts if the vehicle experiences unusual vibrations.
  • External Power Off Alarm: Get notified if the tracker's external power supply is disconnected.
  • Low Power Alarm: Alerts when the internal backup battery is low.
  • SOS Emergency Help: In case of emergency, pressing the SOS button will send an alert to pre-configured contacts.
  • Remote Oil and Power Cut: Remotely disable the vehicle's engine or fuel supply (requires proper relay installation).
  • Remote Control Deployment/Disinstallation: Arm or disarm the anti-theft features using the remote controller.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents.
  • Water Resistance: The device has an IP66 waterproof rating, meaning it is protected against dust and powerful water jets. Ensure all covers and flaps (e.g., SIM card slot cover) are securely closed to maintain this rating.
  • Battery Care: The internal backup battery is a 3.7V 90mAh Li-ion battery. Avoid extreme temperatures to prolong its lifespan.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the BAANOOL IOT platform or app for any available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.

7. Troubleshooting

  • APN Configuration: If you experience connectivity issues, you may need to manually configure the Access Point Name (APN) settings for your SIM card provider. This is typically done via SMS commands or through the BAANOOL IOT platform.
