1. Product Overview

The Eyoyo EY-009L is a compact and versatile 1D laser barcode scanner designed for various applications. 2. Setup and Connection

The EY-009L offers three flexible connection methods to suit your needs.

2.1. Bluetooth Wireless Connection

This mode allows connection to various devices such as PCs, laptops, tablets, iPads, and smartphones running Windows, Android, iOS/MacOS, or Linux.

  1. Activate Bluetooth: Press and hold the scan button for 8-10 seconds to directly turn on Bluetooth on the scanner.
  2. Pairing: On your device (e.g., iPad), go to Bluetooth settings, search for "BarCode ScannerHID" and connect.
  3. Once connected, the scanner is ready for use.

2.2. 2.4G Wireless Connection

This mode uses the included 2.4G USB dongle for wireless connection to devices with a USB port.

  1. Turn on 2.4G Mode: Scan the "2.4G Pairing Steps" barcode from the user manual to switch the scanner to 2.4G mode.
  2. Connect Dongle: Plug the 2.4G USB dongle into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. The scanner will automatically pair with the dongle. The blue light on the scanner will flash quickly during pairing and turn solid blue once connected.

2.3. USB Wired Connection

For a direct and stable connection, use the provided USB cable.

  1. Connect Cable: Plug the smaller end of the USB cable into the scanner and the larger end into a USB port on your computer.
  2. The scanner will function as a wired device, and scanned data will be transmitted directly.

2.4. Attaching to Your Phone (Optional)

The scanner can be conveniently attached to your phone using the provided adhesive pad for integrated use.

  1. Peel off the protective film from the adhesive pad.
  2. Attach the pad to the back of the scanner.
  3. Attach the scanner (with the pad) to the back of your smartphone.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1. Scanning Barcodes

The Eyoyo EY-009L has powerful decoding capabilities, allowing it to read various 1D barcodes, including reflective, colorful, distorted, and even damaged ones. Simply point the laser at the barcode and press the scan button.

3.2. Data Upload Modes

The scanner supports two data upload modes:

  • Instant Upload Mode: Data is synchronously uploaded to your connected device immediately after scanning each barcode.
  • Storage Mode: The scanner stores barcode data in its internal 16MB memory (up to 100,000 barcodes). To upload the stored data, scan the "Data Upload" barcode from the manual. The stored data will be automatically deleted from the scanner after successful upload.

3.3. Sound and Vibration Settings

You can customize the scanner's feedback by turning the sound and vibration on or off. Refer to the specific barcodes in your user manual for these settings.

  • Scan the "Turn off the sound" barcode to disable audio feedback.
  • Scan the "Turn off the vibration" barcode to disable haptic feedback.
  • Scan the "Turn on the sound" or "Turn on the vibration" barcodes to re-enable them.

3.4. Custom Prefix/Suffix

The scanner supports adding custom prefix or suffix digits to scanned data. Consult your detailed user manual for specific barcodes and instructions on how to configure these settings.

4. Maintenance

4.1. Battery and Charging

The scanner is equipped with a 650mAh rechargeable battery, providing up to 9 hours of continuous scanning time and 720 hours of standby time. A full charge takes approximately 4 hours.

  • Use the provided USB charging cable to charge the device.
  • Ensure the scanner is fully charged before initial use for optimal battery life.

4.2. Cleaning

To maintain optimal performance, regularly clean the scanner's lens and body with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Scanner not connecting via Bluetooth: Ensure the scanner's Bluetooth is activated (long press scan button) and your device's Bluetooth is on and discoverable. Try re-pairing.
  • Scanner not connecting via 2.4G: Confirm the 2.4G dongle is securely plugged into the USB port and the scanner is in 2.4G mode (scan the appropriate barcode).
  • No data transmitted: Check the connection mode. If in storage mode, ensure you scan the "Data Upload" barcode. For instant modes, verify the connection is active.
  • Poor scanning performance: Ensure the barcode is clean and not excessively damaged. Adjust the distance and angle of the scanner to the barcode.
  • No sound/vibration: Check if these features have been turned off by scanning the respective setting barcodes.
  • Scanner not charging: Verify the USB cable is properly connected to both the scanner and a power source.
