  • For very dirty panels, use a neutral detergent with a clean soft cloth, then wipe off the detergent with another clean soft cloth.
  • Caution: Avoid using cleaning sprays directly on the device, as this may affect mechanical parts. Do not use hard cloths or volatile liquids (such as thinner or alcohol) to clean the panel, as they may scratch the surface or erase characters.

8.1. General Issues

If you encounter issues, try the following:

  • No Power: Ensure all power cables are securely connected and the car's ACC power supply is active.
  • No Sound: Check volume settings, ensure cables are connected correctly, and verify sound field settings.
  • GPS Signal Loss: Ensure the GPS antenna is properly installed and has a clear view of the sky. Avoid areas with signal interference.
  • Touch Screen Unresponsive: Try restarting the device. If the issue persists, a factory reset might be necessary.

8.2. Factory Reset

A factory reset will delete all third-party software and current system settings. Exercise caution when performing this operation.

  1. Go to Settings > System.
  2. Tap Factory Settings and enter the password '8888'.
  3. To restore to factory settings, tap Restore Factory Settings and enter the password '8888'.

9. User Tips

  • Installation Frame: Some users have noted that the unit may come with a black plastic frame internally. For proper fitment in certain BMW models, it might be necessary to remove this internal plastic frame and use the provided metal frame from the package. Always check the fit before final installation.
  • Heating Menu on Startup: If the heating menu appears automatically every time you start the car, check your car's original settings or the unit's system settings for options related to climate control integration or auto-display features that might be triggering this. Disabling such an option in either the car's system or the head unit's settings may resolve this.
