5. Setup

5.1 Physical Installation

The device supports multiple installation methods to suit various application scenarios:

  • Desktop Installation: Place the device on a flat surface.
  • Gate Installation: Mount the device on an access gate.
  • Wall-Mounted Installation: Securely attach the device to a wall.
  • Ground Installation: Install the device on a stand from the ground.

5.2 Wiring

Proper wiring is essential for the correct functioning of the access control system. Refer to the diagrams below for connecting the device with an access control power supply or a Wiegand controller.

Recommended power supply: 12V ~6A. If sharing power with other devices, it is recommended that the power supply current of the power supply be greater than the total operating current.

5.3 Network Setup (Tuya App Connection)

The device supports both wired TCP/IP and wireless WiFi networking. Follow these steps to connect your device to the Tuya Smart App:

  1. Access Device Settings: On the access control machine, open the settings. Use the default administrator password '123456' to enter the system settings.
  2. Navigate to Network Settings: Click on 'COMM', then 'Tuya settings', and then 'distribute net'.
  3. Open Tuya App: On your mobile phone, open the Tuya app and search for the device.
  4. Connect to WiFi: Click the icon after the device is found. Enter your 2.4G WiFi password and start connecting to the machine.
  5. Verify Connection: After successful connection, you will see the product management on the home page of the app. Enter the home page of this product and try to open the door with the app to confirm functionality.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Unlocking Methods

The device offers multiple secure and convenient ways to unlock:

  • Face Unlock: Utilizes dynamic facial recognition with a 0.5-2 meter range. The two-eye 2-megapixel high-definition infrared camera performs 3D liveness detection to prevent unlocking with photos or videos. It works effectively in strong light, backlight, and weak light conditions.
  • Fingerprint Unlock: High-sensitivity semiconductor 3D fingerprint collector for quick access with low error recognition rate. Suitable for all ages.
  • RFID Card Unlocking: Simply swipe a 125Khz RFID card to open the door. The device supports a capacity of 5000 cards.
  • Password Unlock: Enter a predefined password on the device's touch screen.
  • Tuya APP Unlocking: Remotely manage and unlock the door using the Tuya Smart App on your mobile phone.
  • Temporary Password: Generate and share temporary passwords remotely via the app for visitors.

6.2 User Management

You can manage users, including adding faces, fingerprints, cards, and passwords, either directly on the device or through the Tuya Smart App. The setup video (Video 1) demonstrates how to add face, fingerprint, and password information via the app.

  1. Adding Face Information: After connecting the device to the Tuya app, navigate to the member management section. Click 'Add Face', then 'Start Add'. Point your face at the device's camera. Once the face information is successfully entered, you can assign a name and remember the personnel number.
  2. Adding Fingerprint Information: In the member management section, click 'Add Fingerprint'. Press your finger four times on the fingerprint sensor, ensuring a one-second gap between each press and that your fingers are not dry. After successful entry, confirm and test.
  3. Adding Password: In the member management section, click 'Add Code'. Enter a 6-digit password and save it. Test the password on the machine by entering the personnel number and the saved password.
  4. Adding RFID Card: In the member management section, click 'Add Card'. Follow the on-screen prompts to register your RFID card.

6.3 Attendance Features

The device includes built-in attendance functions:

  • Local Shift Editing: Configure work shifts directly on the device.
  • Timed Ringing: Set up timed alerts or bells.
  • USB Report Export: Import and export attendance scheduling reports and manage attendance data using a USB flash drive.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device's screen and body. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the device is operated within the specified working temperature range of -20°C to 60°C. Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, and high humidity.
  • Power Supply: Use only the recommended 12V 2A power supply.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security. Updates can typically be managed through the Tuya app or via USB.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Device Not Powering On: Check the power connection and ensure the power adapter is correctly plugged into a working outlet. Verify the power supply is 12V 2A.
  • Cannot Connect to Tuya App: Ensure your mobile phone is connected to a 2.4G WiFi network. Double-check the WiFi password entered during setup. Make sure the device is in 'distribute net' mode.
  • Facial Recognition Failure: Ensure your face is within the 0.5-2 meter recognition distance. Avoid using photos or videos for unlocking. Ensure adequate lighting, but avoid direct glare.
  • Fingerprint Recognition Failure: Ensure your finger is clean and dry when scanning. Press firmly and consistently.
  • Door Not Unlocking: Verify that the user's credentials (face, fingerprint, card, password) are correctly registered and active. Check the wiring to the lock mechanism.
  • Forgotten Administrator Password: If you forget the administrator password, you may need to perform a factory reset. Consult the manufacturer's support for specific instructions, as this may erase all user data.

9. User Tips

  • Language Settings: The device supports Simplified Chinese, English, and Japanese. If you require a different language, please contact customer service for customization options.
  • Regular Data Backup: Utilize the USB export function to regularly back up attendance records and user data to prevent loss.
  • Secure Passwords: When setting up passwords, choose strong, unique combinations to enhance security.
