Note: AAA batteries for the remote control are not included due to shipping regulations.

3. Setup

3.1 Connecting the Device

  1. Connect to TV: Plug one end of the provided HD Cable into the HDMI port on your RockTek GT1 TV Box and the other end into an available HDMI input on your television.
  2. Connect Power: Connect the Power Adapter to the DC input port on the GT1 TV Box, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.
  3. Connect to Internet:
    • Wi-Fi: Once powered on, you will be prompted to connect to a Wi-Fi network during the initial setup.
    • Ethernet: For a wired connection, plug an Ethernet cable from your router into the LAN port on the GT1 TV Box.

3.2 Initial Setup with Google TV

  1. Power On: Turn on your television and select the correct HDMI input source. The RockTek GT1 TV Box should power on automatically.
  2. Google TV Welcome Screen: Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your Google TV. This typically involves selecting your language, connecting to Wi-Fi, and signing in with your Google account.
  3. Pair Bluetooth Remote: During the setup process, you will be guided to pair your Bluetooth Voice Remote Control. Follow the instructions to put the remote into pairing mode and connect it to the TV Box.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Google TV Interface

The RockTek GT1 runs on Google TV 12, offering a personalized and intuitive interface:

  • Home Screen: Displays recommended content, recently used apps, and personalized suggestions.
  • Apps: Access all your installed applications. You can download more from the Google Play Store.
  • Library: Find your purchased or rented movies and TV shows.

4.2 Voice Assistant

Use the built-in Google Voice Assistant by pressing the microphone button on your remote and speaking commands. You can search for content, open apps, control smart home devices, and more.

4.3 Chromecast Built-in

The GT1 supports Chromecast, allowing you to cast content (videos, photos, music) from compatible apps on your smartphone, tablet, or computer directly to your TV screen.

4.4 Settings Menu

To access device settings, navigate to the top-right corner of the home screen or use the dedicated settings button on your remote. Key settings include:

  • Display & Sound: Adjust video resolution, HDR settings, and audio output.
  • Network & Internet: Manage Wi-Fi connections and Ethernet settings.
  • Accounts & Sign-in: Manage Google accounts and add new users.
  • Apps: View, manage, or uninstall applications.
  • System: Access device information, perform system updates, and reset the device.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the device is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating. Do not block any ventilation openings.
  • Temperature: Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or high humidity.
  • Power Off: If the device will not be used for an extended period, unplug it from the power outlet.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the device and a working power outlet.
  • No Picture/Sound: Check the HDMI cable connection to both the TV Box and the television. Verify that your TV is set to the correct HDMI input source. Check audio settings in the Google TV menu.
  • Remote Not Responding: Ensure the remote's batteries are fresh and correctly inserted. Try re-pairing the Bluetooth remote through the Google TV settings under 'Remotes & Accessories'.
  • Network Connection Issues: For Wi-Fi, check your router and ensure the Wi-Fi network is active. For Ethernet, ensure the cable is securely connected to both the TV Box and your router. Restarting your router may also help.
  • Applications Not Working: Try clearing the cache of the problematic app via Settings > Apps. If the issue persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Ensure the device's system software is up to date.
