4. Installation Guide

The Aigo CPU coolers are designed for convenient installation using a buckle mechanism, aiming to save users time during assembly.

4.1. Pre-Installation Notes

  • Ensure your motherboard is compatible with the cooler's supported sockets (Intel: LGA 775, 1150, 1151, 1155, 1156, 1200, 1356, 1366, 1700, 1851; AMD: AM2, AM2+, AM3, AM3+, AM4, AM5, FM1, FM2, FM2+).
  • Intel motherboards require the included Intel Cooler bracket.
  • AMD motherboards typically come with their own cooler bracket. If your AMD motherboard lacks this bracket, you will need to acquire one separately.
  • Apply thermal paste to the CPU before mounting the cooler. If your package did not include thermal paste (e.g., shipped from China), ensure you have a compatible thermal paste.

4.2. General Installation Steps

  1. Prepare your motherboard by ensuring the CPU is correctly seated in its socket.
  2. Clean the surface of the CPU and the cooler's base with isopropyl alcohol to remove any dust or residue.
  3. Apply a small amount of thermal paste (pea-sized dot or thin line) to the center of the CPU's integrated heat spreader (IHS).
  4. Attach the appropriate mounting bracket (Intel or AMD) to the motherboard according to your motherboard's instructions.
  5. Carefully place the CPU cooler onto the CPU, aligning the mounting mechanism with the bracket.
  6. Secure the cooler using the provided screws or buckle mechanism. Tighten screws in a diagonal pattern to ensure even pressure.
  7. Connect the 3-pin fan connector to the appropriate CPU fan header on your motherboard.

5. Operation

Once installed and powered on, the Aigo CPU cooler will begin to operate, providing active cooling to your CPU. The fan operates at a speed of 1800 RPM, generating an air volume of 42 CFM with a low noise level of approximately 21.05 dBA.

5.1. RGB Lighting

The cooler features a multicolored aperture design that provides a constant and vibrant RGB light experience. The lighting reflects a beautiful halo, illuminating your hardware. The specific RGB patterns and synchronization capabilities may depend on your motherboard's RGB control software if it supports 3-pin RGB headers.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure optimal performance and longevity of your CPU cooler.

  • Dust Removal: Periodically clean the fan blades and heatsink fins to prevent dust buildup, which can impede airflow and reduce cooling efficiency. Use compressed air or a soft brush.
  • Thermal Paste: The thermal paste typically lasts for several years. If you notice a significant increase in CPU temperatures, consider reapplying fresh thermal paste. This involves carefully removing the cooler, cleaning off old paste from both the CPU and cooler base, and applying new paste.
  • Fan Inspection: Check the fan periodically for any signs of wear, unusual noises, or reduced rotation.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Aigo CPU cooler, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Fan Not Spinning: Check if the 3-pin fan connector is securely plugged into the motherboard's CPU fan header. Ensure the motherboard is receiving power.
  • High CPU Temperatures: Verify that the cooler is properly seated on the CPU and that thermal paste was applied correctly. Ensure there is adequate airflow within your PC case. Check if the fan is spinning at its rated speed.
  • Unusual Noises: Inspect the fan for any obstructions (e.g., cables) or damage to the blades. Ensure the cooler is securely mounted and not vibrating against other components.
  • RGB Lighting Issues: Check the connection of the RGB cable (if applicable) to your motherboard's RGB header. Ensure your motherboard's RGB software is correctly configured.

8. User Tips

  • AMD AM4/AM5 Socket Compatibility: These coolers are compatible with AM4 and AM5 sockets. Ensure you use the existing AMD motherboard cooler bracket for installation.
  • Xeon X99 Kit Compatibility: Please note that these coolers are generally not compatible with Xeon X99 kits, which typically use LGA2011 or LGA2011-3 sockets. Verify your CPU socket type before purchase.
  • Thermal Paste Application: For optimal heat transfer, apply a thin, even layer of thermal paste. If your package did not include thermal paste, ensure you acquire a high-quality paste separately.

9. Warranty and Support

Aigo CPU coolers typically come with a 1-3 year warranty. For specific warranty terms, conditions, or technical support, please contact the seller or manufacturer directly. Keep your proof of purchase for warranty claims.
