Setup Instructions
1. Transducer Installation
The transducer is essential for detecting underwater information. Its installation method varies depending on your bait boat's design.
For Bait Boats with Grooves for Sensors:
- Use a screwdriver to remove the transducer decorative cover from the bottom of the ship.
- Assemble the transducer and rubber pad, and pass the assembled transducer through the transducer hole.
- Tighten the transducer with the lock knob inside the boat.
- The installation is complete.

For Bait Boats without a Probe Mounting Hole:
If your bait boat does not have a specific transducer mounting groove, you will need to create a hole for installation.
- Choose a flat installation location at the bottom of the boat. Drill a hole with a diameter of approximately 15 mm at the selected position.
- Assemble the transducer and waterproof rubber pad (factory installed).
- Pass the assembled transducer and rubber pad through the transducer hole.
- Fix the transducer with the lock knob inside the boat, then the installation is completed.

Rubber adapter pads are included to suit various bait boat designs.

2. Antenna Installation
The fish finder antenna is crucial for wireless communication. Please note that the antenna of the bait boat and the fish finder are not compatible due to different remote control frequencies.
- **Important:** Make sure the power of the bait boat is OFF before installing the antenna of the fish finder. Failure to do so may damage inner parts of the signal tower.
- If there is no designated place in the bait boat for the fish finder antenna, you may need to drill a hole on the lid.
- Put the antenna extension through the hole and screw it to the lid tightly.
- Connect the antenna extension to the signal tower.
- Install the fish finder antenna on the lid.

3. Power Connection
Connect the sonar sensor and the inner 12V battery to the control box. Ensure the signal tower is placed in the front of the boat to minimize interference from engine noise.

The signal tower requires a 10V to 12.5V DC battery. The main display unit requires 11V to 13V DC power.
Operating Instructions
1. Powering On and Initial Scan
Once the transducer and antenna are correctly installed and powered, turn on the display unit. The device will automatically begin scanning the water.

The display provides constant readings of:
- Signal Sensitivity
- Signal Indicator
- Transmitter Battery Capacity
- Display Battery Capacity
- Fish Icons and Fish Depth
- Water Depth
- Water Temperature
- Depth Upper and Lower Limits
- Depth Ruler
- Water Surface Line
- Bottom Contour
2. User Settings
The FF918-CWL allows for user-selectable settings to optimize your fishing experience:
- Sensitivity: Adjust to detect smaller fish or in different water conditions.
- Zoom: Magnify specific depth ranges for detailed viewing.
- Units: Switch between metric (meters, Celsius) and imperial (feet, Fahrenheit) units.
- Depth Range: Manually set the depth range for the display.
- Shallow Alarm: Set an alarm to alert you when the water depth falls below a specified value.
- Fish Icon: Toggle fish icons on/off.
- Fish Alarm: Set an alarm to alert you when fish are detected.
- Chart Speed: Adjust the scrolling speed of the sonar chart.
The device has a built-in memory that stores your sonar settings even when the fish finder is turned off.
3. Wireless Operation
The fish finder operates wirelessly with an operational range of up to 980 feet (300m). The transducer has a depth capability of 328 feet (100m) and a 45-degree beam angle at 200Khz.

The device is suitable for various water bodies, including wild fishing, lakes, and turbid water.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: After each use, gently wipe the display unit and transducer with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Drying: Ensure all components are completely dry before storage to prevent corrosion.
- Battery Care: Always use batteries within the specified voltage range (10V to 12.5V DC for the signal tower, 11V to 13V DC for the display unit). Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.
- Storage: Store the fish finder in a cool, dry place within the operational temperature range of 14°F to 122°F (-10°C to 50°C).
Troubleshooting
- No Display/Power: Check all power connections. Ensure the batteries are charged and within the specified voltage range (10V to 12.5V DC for signal tower, 11V to 13V DC for display unit).
- No Sonar Readings: Verify the transducer is correctly installed and submerged in water. Check the connection between the transducer and the control box.
- Poor Wireless Signal: Ensure the fish finder antenna is securely installed and not obstructed. Confirm the bait boat power was off during antenna installation to prevent damage to the signal tower. Place the signal tower in the front of the boat to minimize engine noise interference. Remember that the antenna only enhances signal reception.
- Incompatible Antennas: Note that the remote control frequency of the bait boat and the fish finder are different, so their antennas are not compatible. Do not attempt to interchange them.
