2. Product Features

  • Infinite Mirror Design: Features a frontal thousand-layer mirror light effect with inner and outer dual-zone lighting.

3. Setup and Installation

Before installation, ensure your computer is powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet.

3.1 Package Contents

Verify that all components are present:

  • JONSBO ZB-Series ARGB Fan(s) (120mm, 240mm, or 360mm model)
  • Mounting Screws (typically 4 per 120mm fan unit)

3.2 Installation Steps

  1. Determine Fan Direction: The ZB-Series fans are available in 'Regular' (forward) and 'Reversed' blade designs. Identify the desired airflow direction (intake or exhaust) for your installation location. The 'Positive light effect' image (Figure 3) illustrates air outlet and inlet surfaces.
  2. Mount the Fan(s): Position the fan(s) in your desired location (e.g., PC case, radiator). Use the provided screws to secure the fan(s). The conjoined structure simplifies mounting for multi-fan units.
  3. Connect Power (PWM): Connect the 4-pin PWM cable from the fan unit to an available 4-pin fan header on your motherboard. This allows for fan speed control.
  4. Connect ARGB (Lighting): Connect the 3-pin 5V ARGB cable from the fan unit to an available 3-pin 5V ARGB header on your motherboard or a dedicated ARGB controller. The male and female design of the ARGB plugs allows for daisy-chaining multiple ARGB devices.
  5. Cable Management: Route cables neatly to ensure proper airflow and a clean chassis.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Fan Speed Control (PWM)

The fan speed is controlled via the 4-pin PWM connection to your motherboard. You can adjust fan curves and speeds through your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI settings or through compatible software provided by your motherboard manufacturer (e.g., ASUS Fan Xpert, MSI Dragon Center, GIGABYTE SIV).

4.2 ARGB Lighting Control

The ARGB lighting effects are controlled via the 3-pin 5V ARGB connection. To customize the lighting:

  1. Ensure the 3-pin 5V ARGB cable is correctly connected to your motherboard's ARGB header or a compatible controller.
  2. Install the appropriate ARGB control software for your motherboard (e.g., ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light Sync, GIGABYTE RGB Fusion, ASRock Polychrome Sync).
  3. Use the software to select from over 16 million color effects, various lighting modes, and synchronize with other ARGB components.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure optimal performance and longevity of your JONSBO ZB-Series fans.

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean dust from the fan blades and frame using compressed air or a soft brush. Ensure the computer is powered off before cleaning.
  • Check Connections: Occasionally check that all power (4-pin PWM) and ARGB (3-pin 5V) cables are securely connected.
  • Environmental Conditions: Operate the fans within recommended temperature ranges (Room Temp: 25℃) to maximize lifespan.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Fan Not Spinning:
    • Check if the 4-pin PWM cable is securely connected to the motherboard fan header.
    • Ensure the fan header is enabled in your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI settings.
    • Verify that the fan speed is not set to 0 RPM in your fan control software or BIOS.
  • ARGB Lights Not Working:
    • Confirm the 3-pin 5V ARGB cable is correctly connected to a compatible ARGB header (not a 12V RGB header, which can damage the LEDs).
    • Ensure your motherboard's ARGB header is enabled in BIOS/UEFI.
    • Check your ARGB control software for proper settings and effects.
    • If daisy-chaining, ensure all connections are firm.
  • Excessive Noise:
    • Clean any dust buildup on the fan blades.
    • Check for any cables or obstructions touching the fan blades.
