Setup Guide
1. Mounting the Device
The EKIY M21 comes with a motorcycle mounting bracket. The M21-CX model features a magnetic bracket for easier attachment and detachment.
- Attach the mounting bracket securely to your motorcycle's handlebars or a suitable surface.
- For M21-CX models, ensure the magnetic bracket is firmly engaged. Use the special unlocking tool for anti-theft security.
- Position the display for optimal visibility without obstructing your view or controls.
2. Power Connection
- Connect the provided power cable to the device and your motorcycle's power source. Ensure a stable 12V power supply.
- Secure the GPS antenna in a location with a clear view of the sky for optimal signal reception.
Operating Instructions
Device Overview and Basic Navigation
The EKIY M21 runs on an Android 13-based Linux system, offering a user-friendly interface. Navigate through applications and settings using the touchscreen.
Wireless CarPlay Connection
To connect your iPhone via Wireless CarPlay:
- On the EKIY M21 display, select the "Car Link" icon, then choose "Apple CarPlay".
- On your iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth.
- Turn on Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select the device named "start-8729" from the list to connect.
- Confirm the pairing code on both devices.
- Allow access to contacts and call history if prompted.
- CarPlay will launch automatically.
Note: First-time connection may take slightly longer. This device is compatible with iOS 13.0 or higher version. Once connected, future connections will be automatic.
Wireless Android Auto Connection
To connect your Android smartphone via Wireless Android Auto:
- On the EKIY M21 display, select the "Car Link" icon, then choose "Android Auto".
- On your Android smartphone, go to Settings > Connected devices > Bluetooth.
- Turn on Bluetooth and search for available devices.
- Select the device named "start-8729" from the list to connect.
- Confirm the pairing code on both devices.
- Allow access to contacts and call history if prompted.
- Android Auto will launch automatically.
Note: First-time connection may take slightly longer. This device is compatible with Android 11.0 or higher version. Once connected, future connections will be automatic.
