Setup & Installation

Follow these steps to set up your eppfun AK3040R Ultra Bluetooth Audio Receiver:

1. Powering the Device

  1. Connect the provided TYPE-C cable to the 'TYPE-C' port on the AK3040R Ultra.
  2. Plug the other end of the TYPE-C cable into a 5V USB power source (e.g., a USB wall adapter, computer USB port). The device will power on automatically.

2. Connecting to Your Audio System

The AK3040R Ultra offers both Optical and Coaxial digital outputs. Choose the appropriate cable based on your audio system's input:

  • Optical Connection: Insert one end of the optical audio cable into the 'OPTICAL OUT' port on the receiver. Insert the other end into the optical input port of your amplifier, active speakers, or DAC.
  • Coaxial Connection: Insert one end of a coaxial cable into the 'COAX OUT' port on the receiver. Insert the other end into the coaxial input port of your amplifier, active speakers, or DAC.

3. Bluetooth Pairing

  1. Ensure the AK3040R Ultra is powered on. The Bluetooth indicator light will flash, indicating it's in pairing mode.
  2. On your smartphone, tablet, or computer, go to the Bluetooth settings.
  3. Search for available devices. You should see "eppfun AK3040R Ultra" in the list.
  4. Select "eppfun AK3040R Ultra" to connect.
  5. Once connected, the Bluetooth indicator light on the receiver will remain constantly on. You can now play audio from your device through the AK3040R Ultra.

4. USB Audio Input (PC/Phone OTG)

The AK3040R Ultra can also function as a USB sound card for your PC or OTG-compatible phone:

  1. Connect the TYPE-C cable from the AK3040R Ultra to a USB port on your computer or an OTG-compatible smartphone.
  2. The device should be recognized automatically by your operating system. You may need to select the AK3040R Ultra as the audio output device in your system's sound settings.
  3. Audio will now be routed digitally from your computer/phone to the AK3040R Ultra, then outputted via its optical or coaxial ports to your audio system.

Operating Instructions

  • Power On/Off: The device powers on automatically when connected to a 5V USB power source. Disconnect the power cable to turn it off.
  • Bluetooth Connection: Once paired, the receiver will automatically attempt to reconnect to the last paired device when powered on and within range.
  • Audio Playback: Control audio playback (play/pause, volume, track selection) directly from your connected source device (smartphone, tablet, PC).
