4. Installation
4.1. Important Notes Before Wiring
- Make sure that the power at the circuit breaker is OFF before wiring.
- The wire colors indicated in this manual are the usual colors and may differ in some houses.
- Ensure the wire conductors are securely fastened to each wire.
- Ensure the Wi-Fi signal is steady and normally working before wiring.
- If you don't have any wiring experience, please call a professional electrician.
4.2. Wiring Steps
- Turn off Power: Turn off the power at the circuit breaker and use an electrical tester to confirm that the power is off before proceeding with any wiring.
- Remove Old Switch: Carefully remove the faceplate and then the old switch from the wall box.
- Verify Power is Off: We recommend you remove the faceplate from the old switch and use an electrical tester to test all wires connected to the switch to ensure there is no voltage in the circuit. You may need to turn off more than one circuit breaker.
- Identify Wires and Take Pictures: Identify the Line/Load wires. Note: The color of your wires may be different from the colors shown in the manual. Take pictures of your existing wiring for reference.
- Wiring Diagram: Follow the wiring diagram below to connect the smart switch wires to the wires in the wall box with the wire conductors.
- Remove Panel: Remove the front panel of the smart switch with a screwdriver before mounting. (Do not install with electricity power on).
- Terminal Connections:
- Live wire connects to the “L” terminal.
- Neutral wire connects to the “N” terminal.
- Lamp wire connects to the “L1, L2, L3, L4” terminals.
- 1 Gang switch connects to the “L1” terminal.
- 2 Gang switch connects to the “L1, L2” terminals.
- 3 Gang switch connects to the “L1, L2, L3” terminals.

5. MOES App Setup
5.1. Download the MOES App
Download the “MOES” App from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). You can also scan the QR code below:

MOES App QR code for download, with 'GET IT ON Google play' and 'Download on the App Store' buttons.
The MOES App offers enhanced compatibility and features compared to the Tuya Smart/Smart Life App, including Siri scene control, widgets, and customized services. While Tuya Smart/Smart Life App still works, MOES App is highly recommended.
5.2. Registration or Login
- Open the “MOES” Application.
- Tap “Register” to create an account by entering your phone number and setting a password.
- If you already have a MOES account, choose “Log in”.
5.3. How to Reset/Re-pair WiFi Device
Long press the switch for 10 seconds until the indicator on the switch flashes fast. The device will then enter network connection mode.
5.4. Connecting the App to the Device
- Ensure the device is within the effective signal coverage of your smart ZigBee gateway for successful connection into the ZigBee gateway in the MOES App.
- Make sure your MOES App has successfully connected to a Zigbee gateway.
- Enter the gateway section in the app. Follow the on-screen instructions to “Add subdevice”. The connection process may take 10-120 seconds depending on your network condition. Ensure the device's LED is blinking during this process.
- Once the device is added successfully, you can edit its name and enter the device page by clicking “Done”.
- Click “Done” again to enter the device page and enjoy your smart home automation.
6. Multi-Control Association (for N+L wire)
Note: Please confirm you have successfully linked this switch to your MOES App before attempting multi-control association.
- Add Additional Smart Switches: Add any other smart switches you wish to associate to the same MOES App. If you have already added them, proceed to the next step.
- Wiring for Neutral Wire Switches: If your switch requires a neutral wire, there is no need to wire the newly added switch directly to the light. Only the Line (L) and Neutral (N) wires are required for wiring the additional switch. You can then control one light with multiple switches in the MOES App.
- Wiring for No Neutral Wire Switches: If your switch does not require a neutral wire, you need to follow the wiring instructions to connect the Line (L) and light. At this point, you can control the lights simultaneously with multiple switches.
- Initiate Association in App: In the app, you will see two devices. Click on the main switch (e.g., a one-gang switch) to enter its settings.
- Select Multi-Control Association: Click the edit icon in the upper right corner and choose “Multi-Control Association”. Then click “+” to add a link.
- Choose Switch to Associate: Select the switch you want to associate and then choose the specific switch button that you want to control the same light.
- Verify Association: Go back to the previous page. You will see two items: your main switch and the newly associated switch. Ensure the associated switch is enabled.
- Control Your Light: You are now able to control your light with two switches. Do not associate another button in the same switch for multi-control.
- Add More Switches: If you want to add a third or more smart switches to control your light, repeat the steps above. The app will display all associated switches.

9. User Tips
- Wiring Requirements: Always double-check your home's wiring to determine if you have a neutral wire. The switch supports both neutral and no-neutral wire configurations, but understanding your setup is crucial for correct installation. If you are unsure, consult a professional electrician.
- ZigBee Hub: Remember that a MOES ZigBee Hub is required for the smart switch to function and connect to your smart home ecosystem. Ensure it is purchased separately if you don't already own one.
- Wi-Fi Frequency: The switch operates on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi only, not 5GHz. Ensure your router is configured to support 2.4GHz for proper connection.
- Minimum Power: Ensure the connected load has a minimum power of 3W for optimal performance.
10. Troubleshooting
10.1. Device Not Connecting to App
- Ensure the smart switch is within range of your ZigBee gateway.
- Verify that your ZigBee gateway is properly connected to the MOES App.
- Check if the switch's indicator light is flashing rapidly, indicating it's in pairing mode. If not, reset the device by long-pressing the switch for 10 seconds.
- Confirm your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz, not 5GHz.
10.2. Lights Not Responding
- Check if the power at the circuit breaker is ON.
- Ensure all wiring connections are secure and correct according to the wiring diagrams (neutral wire vs. no neutral wire).
- Verify that the connected load meets the minimum power requirement of 3W.
- If using multi-control association, ensure all associated switches are enabled and correctly linked in the app.
10.3. Voice Control Issues
- Ensure your smart switch is successfully connected to the MOES App and the ZigBee gateway.
- Verify that your Amazon Alexa or Google Home device is properly linked to your MOES/Tuya account.
- Check your internet connection and the status of your voice assistant device.
11. Maintenance
- Cleaning: To clean the switch, gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or excessive moisture, as this may damage the device or cause electrical hazards.
- Regular Checks: Periodically check the wiring connections to ensure they remain secure.
- Software Updates: Keep your MOES App updated to the latest version to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
