7. User Tips

  • Compatibility Check: Always double-check that your car's system is indeed CIC and has a 4-PIN LVDS port for proper compatibility and installation. This is the most common reason for installation issues.
  • LVDS Cable Connection: If you experience a red screen after installation, the most frequent cause is an incorrect or loose LVDS cable connection. Carefully re-check both the input and output LVDS cables to ensure they are securely and correctly connected to the decoder box and the OEM screen.
  • Professional Installation: While the installation is designed to be plug-and-play, professional assistance is strongly recommended if you are not familiar with car electronics or wiring to avoid potential issues and ensure optimal performance.
  • Audio Quality: Utilize the built-in DSP and adjustable Audio EQ settings to fine-tune the sound to your preference for the best audio experience.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 Common Issues and Solutions

  • Red Screen After Installation: This issue is almost always related to the LVDS cable connection. Ensure the original LVDS cable from the OEM head unit is connected to the LVDS OUT port on the decoder box, and the provided LVDS IN cable from the decoder box is connected to the OEM screen. Verify both are 4-PIN and securely seated.
  • No Signal / Black Screen:
    • Check all power connections to the decoder box to ensure they are secure and receiving power.
    • Confirm that the correct input source is selected on your car's display to view the CarPlay/Android Auto interface.
    • Verify LVDS cable connections as described for the 'Red Screen' issue.
  • Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto Connectivity Problems:
    • Ensure your smartphone's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are enabled and discoverable.
    • Check that the decoder box's Wi-Fi antenna is properly connected and not obstructed.
    • Try restarting both your phone and the car's infotainment system.
    • Ensure your phone's software is up to date.
  • No Audio:
    • Verify the AUX OUT cable from the decoder box is correctly connected to your car's AUX input.
    • Ensure your car's audio source is set to AUX.
    • Check volume levels on both your phone and the car's system.
  • Controls Not Responding:
    • Ensure all CAN bus connections (part of the power cable) are correctly made.
    • Restart the system.
