3. Setup Guide
3.1 Powering the Device
The weather station host can be powered in two ways:
- DC Power: Connect the provided power adapter to the weather station and plug it into a suitable AC 220V outlet. This allows for continuous operation and backlight functionality. The backlight has 4 adjustable brightness levels (High-Medium-Low-Off) when powered by the adapter.
- Battery Power: For portable use or as a backup, insert 3 AAA batteries into the host unit (batteries not included). When battery-powered, the backlight will only illuminate for 5 seconds to conserve power (power saving mode).
The wireless transmitter requires 2 AAA batteries (not included).
3.2 Wireless Sensor Placement
Place the wireless transmitter (outdoor sensor) in a location that provides accurate outdoor temperature and humidity readings, away from direct sunlight and rain. Ensure it is within the 150-meter transmission range of the main unit. The weather station supports up to 3 wireless sensors (additional sensors sold separately).
3.3 Tuya WiFi Connection
To unlock smart features and automatic time calibration, connect your weather station to the Tuya Smart Life app. The device works with 2.4GHz WiFi networks only.
- Download the "Tuya Smart" or "Smart Life" app from your smartphone's app store.
- Register or log in to your account.
