Product Overview

The OTTOCAST OttoAiBox i3 is a wireless AI Box specifically designed for BMW car models with built-in OEM wired CarPlay. It seamlessly converts your vehicle's system into an independent Android 13 system, greatly expanding entertainment functions and connectivity options.

This unique AI Box is compatible with 99% of BMW models produced from 2017 onwards. After the initial connection, the adapter automatically connects every time you start your car.

Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6125 Octa-core processor, with 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM, the Ottocast i3 ensures lightning-fast processing and a smooth user interface. It supports TF card expansion up to 256GB for additional storage.

Tips! Power off the device before inserting or removing the Nano SIM card or TF card. Nano SIM card and TF card are not included in the package. Please refer to the diagram above for how to insert the cards correctly.

Product Setup

How to connect your OttoAiBox i3

1. Power on your product: Connect the USB cable from the AI Box to your car's USB port.
2. Connect Bluetooth: Go to the Bluetooth list on your car's screen and match the Bluetooth device named 'OttoAIBox-XXXX'.
3. Agree to pop-ups: If any pop-ups appear on your car screen, please agree to them.
4. Enjoy: The connection should now be successful.

How to connect the AI box to the network

1. Insert Nano SIM card: To use cellular data network, insert a Nano SIM card into the designated slot on the AI Box.
2. Connect to a Wi-Fi network: Go to AI box settings > Network & internet > Internet > Wi-Fi. Join an available Wi-Fi network, such as a router or personal hotspot from your phone.

How to pair your phone with Bluetooth

1. Open Bluetooth on your phone and keep the Bluetooth menu active.
2. On your car screen, go to the Bluetooth list and match the device named 'OttoAIBox-XXXX'.
3. Click 'Add new device' on your car screen.
4. Click the 'Search' button to find available Bluetooth devices.
5. Connect to your phone's Bluetooth.
6. Agree to all pop-ups, and your phone will be successfully connected to the device.

How to change the language

1. Navigate to Settings > More settings > Languages.
2. Under 'Languages', tap on the plus '+' icon to 'Add a language' and select your desired language.
3. Move your new language to the top of the list to set it as the primary language.
4. Your device language will change.

Note: Once you change the language, your device may restart automatically. This is normal.

Firmware Update

1. Online Update

1. Make sure the product is connected to the network.
2. Go to the 'Update App' option in the system UI interface.
3. If a new software update is available, click the update button to start the download and installation process.

TIPS! DO NOT power off the device while updating.

After the product upgrade, please clear the Bluetooth pairing record of this product on your mobile phone and re-pair it once.

2. TF Card Update

1. Format your TF card to FAT32.
2. Copy the `update.zip` file to the root folder of the TF card.
3. Insert the TF card into the AI box, then power on the device.
4. Navigate to the 'Update App' option and tap 'Upgrade'.
5. During the upgrade, the red and blue indicator lights will flash alternately.
6. After the update is finished, the system will restart. Delete the `update.zip` file or remove the TF card.

User Tips

• Compatibility Check: Always ensure your car has OEM wired CarPlay and is a BMW model from 2017 onwards for compatibility. The device is not compatible with aftermarket stereos.
• Phone Compatibility: Note that HUAWEI and Xiaomi Redmi phones are explicitly listed as incompatible. Ensure your phone is Android 11 or above, or iPhone 6 or above.
• SIM Card for 4G: If you plan to use 4G connectivity, remember to insert a Nano SIM card and restart the device after insertion for proper recognition.
• Online Resources: For additional support and troubleshooting, consider downloading the OttoPilot App (available on App Store and Google Play) which offers breakdown maintenance, customer support, and online upgrade features.

Troubleshooting

• No Connection: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected and your car's ignition is on. Verify that your car has OEM wired CarPlay.
• Bluetooth Pairing Issues: Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on both your phone and the AI Box. Clear previous pairing records if necessary and try re-pairing.
• Network Issues: Check if the Nano SIM card is correctly inserted and activated, or if the Wi-Fi network is stable and correctly configured.
• System Lag/Freezing: Try restarting the device. Ensure the firmware is up to date.
