Setup
1. Installation
The TM630A timer switch can be installed either on a DIN rail or screw-mounted. Ensure the installation location is dry, well-ventilated, and within the specified temperature range (-20°C to +50°C).
2. Wiring Diagram
Refer to the following wiring diagram for proper connection. Ensure all connections are secure and comply with local electrical codes. This diagram shows the connections for the 12V DC/AC input and the load output.

The timer has two input terminals for power (typically marked L and N for AC, or + and - for DC) and two output terminals for the load.
3. Initial Power-up
Upon initial power-up or after extended storage, the internal 1.2V rechargeable battery may be low. Connect the timer to its power supply (12V DC/AC) for a few hours to allow the internal battery to charge. This battery maintains the programmed settings during power outages.
Operating Instructions
1. Button Functions
Familiarize yourself with the buttons on the front panel:

- C/R (Cancel/Recall): Clears current settings or recalls saved programs.
- D+ (Day): Adjusts the day of the week.
- H+ (Hour): Adjusts the hour.
- M+ (Minute): Adjusts the minute.
- P (Program/Timer): Enters programming mode.
- CLOCK: Used in combination with D+, H+, M+ to set the current time and day.
- MANUAL: Manually switches the output ON/OFF or sets to AUTO mode.
2. Setting the Present Time and Day
To set the current time and day of the week:
- Press and hold the CLOCK button.
- While holding CLOCK, press HOUR to set the current hour.
- While holding CLOCK, press MINUTE to set the current minute.
- While holding CLOCK, press DAY to set the current day of the week.
3. Programming ON/OFF Times
The timer supports up to 16 ON/OFF programs per day or week. Follow these steps to set your desired schedules:

- Press the TIMER (P) button once to enter the 1st ON time setting. The display will show "1 ON".
- Press HOUR, MINUTE, and DAY buttons to set the desired time and day(s) for the 1st ON event.
- DAY button allows selecting various combinations of days (e.g., MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA, SU; MO, TU, WE, TH, FR; SA, SU; MO, WE, FR; TU, TH, SA; MO, TU, WE; TH, FR, SA; MO, WE, FR, SA; MO, TU, WE, TH, FR, SA, SU).
- Press the TIMER (P) button again. The display will show "1 OFF".
- Press HOUR, MINUTE, and DAY buttons to set the desired time and day(s) for the 1st OFF event.
- Repeat steps 1-4 for additional ON/OFF programs (up to 16 pairs).
- To exit programming mode, press the CLOCK button.
4. Manual Override
The MANUAL button allows you to override the programmed settings temporarily or permanently:
- Press MANUAL repeatedly to cycle through modes: ON (always on), OFF (always off), and AUTO (follows programmed schedule).
- In AUTO mode, the timer will execute the programmed ON/OFF events.
Maintenance
1. Internal Battery
The TM630A includes a 1.2V rechargeable internal battery. This battery automatically recharges when the timer is connected to its power supply. It is designed to retain your programmed settings for up to 60 days during power outages. If the timer has been stored for a long period without power, allow it to charge for several hours before programming to ensure full memory retention.
2. Cleaning
To clean the timer, gently wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the device in water.
Troubleshooting
- Display is blank: Check if the timer is receiving power (12V DC/AC). If it has been without power for an extended period, the internal battery may be fully discharged. Connect to power and allow it to charge.
- Programs are not executing:
- Ensure the timer is in AUTO mode (check the display for "AUTO"). Press the MANUAL button to cycle to AUTO mode if necessary.
- Verify that the current time and day are set correctly.
- Check that the ON/OFF programs are correctly entered and enabled.
- Time drift: The timer has an auto time error correction of +/- 30 seconds weekly. Significant deviations may indicate an issue with the power supply or internal components.
- Loss of programs after power outage: While the internal battery provides memory retention for up to 60 days, prolonged power outages or a depleted internal battery can lead to program loss. Ensure the internal battery is adequately charged.
User Tips
- For critical applications, consider testing your programmed schedules after initial setup to ensure they function as expected.
- Take advantage of the 15 programming group combinations to create complex weekly schedules for different days or sets of days.
- The manual override function is useful for temporary changes without altering your saved programs.
- Given its wide application range, this timer is highly versatile. Consider using it for automating garden irrigation, aquarium lighting, or even charging cycles for low-voltage devices.
