3.3. How to Identify Your PCM System

To ensure proper compatibility, identify your Porsche's PCM system by checking the buttons on your car's head unit:

• PCM 3.1 System: Look for 'NAVI' and 'MAP' buttons.
• PCM 4.0 System: Look for 'OPT' and 'RETURN' buttons.
• PCM 3.0 System: Typically has an 'OPTION' button on the right side.

5. Installation Guide

Installation of the Carplay module requires careful handling of your car's dashboard and wiring. It is recommended that installation be performed by a professional.

5.1. Module Installation into Original Car Host

The Carplay module (PCBA) needs to be installed inside the original car host unit.

5.2. Cable Connections (PCM3.1 Example)

Follow the wiring diagram carefully for proper connection. Ensure all cables are securely connected.

Ensure MIC IN, MIC OUT, 12V-OUT, BACK, Camera 12V, GND, B+ are correctly wired. Connect phone/USB stick as needed. Optical fiber cable connects to the original radio power female and male connectors.

Note: This device will only work after the vehicle is started (ignition on).

5.3. Ribbon Cable (FPC) Connection

The FPC (Flexible Flat Cable) connects the LCD module to the head unit chassis and video interface (PCBA). Ensure the FPC is correctly oriented and secured with provided screw post extensions.

5.4. Transfer Fiber Optic Cable

If your car has a fiber optic cable, you must transfer it to the new power cable group:

1. Disconnect the original OEM power cable from the car radio and reconnect it to the new wiring harness.
2. Plug the new power cable group into the car radio.
3. Move the original fiber optic cable to the new power cable group.

5.5. Cable Connections (PCM4.0 Example)

For PCM4.0 systems, the wiring may differ slightly. Refer to the specific diagram for PCM4.0.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Original Car Button Operation

The module integrates with your car's original buttons for seamless control.

Steering Wheel Controls:
Short press to end call, long press to call Siri.
Head Unit Controls:
Press and hold 'INFO' button for 2 seconds to switch systems.
Rotate left/right to adjust volume.
Short press 'OPTION' to return, long press for 10 seconds for system forced upgrade.
Use 'SOUND' button for audio channel switching.

6.2. Wireless CarPlay Connection

1. In the module's smartphone settings, turn on 'CarPlay'.
2. Check the Bluetooth device name (e.g., 'CAR-xxxx') in your phone's Bluetooth settings.
3. On your iPhone, turn on Wi-Fi and keep it on. Then, go back to Bluetooth and connect to the 'CAR-xxxx' device.
4. Select the Bluetooth device name 'CAR-xxxx' and pair. A request window will pop up; choose 'Use CarPlay'.

6.3. Wireless AirPlay Connection

1. In the module's smartphone settings, turn on 'AirPlay'.
2. On your iPhone, select the Wireless LAN option. The search bar will show 'CAR-WIFI-XXX'. Click the link; the password is '66668888'.
3. After successful Wi-Fi connection, return to your iPhone's main interface, open the Shortcut menu page, and select 'Screen Mirroring'.
4. After 'Screen Mirroring' is turned on, select 'AirPlay' to complete the wireless screen mirroring.

6.4. Wireless Android Auto Connection

1. In the module's smartphone settings, turn on 'Android Auto'.
2. Check the Bluetooth name starting with 'CAR-xxx' in your Android phone's Bluetooth interface.
3. Click on the Bluetooth name beginning with 'CAR-xxx'. A pairing request will pop up; click 'Pairing'.
4. After successful Bluetooth pairing, follow the Android Auto connection process on screen. Turn on the Android Auto app on your mobile phone, and the system will connect automatically.

6.5. Wireless AutoLink Connection

1. On your Android phone, scan the QR code (found in the PDF manual) or use your mobile browser to download and install the AutoLink app.
2. In the module's smartphone settings, turn on 'AutoLink'.
3. Open the AutoLink app, search for and connect to the Wi-Fi network named 'car-xxxxx'. Click 'Allow' in the pop-up window.

Note: AutoLink supports AUX audio only. You can also connect it wired via a Type-C cable.

7. System Settings

7.1. WiFi Channel Settings

If CarPlay/Android Auto connection frequently disconnects, try changing the Wi-Fi signal channel:

1. Navigate to the module's menu screen.
2. Go to 'Setup' > 'System' > 'WiFi'.
3. Change the Wi-Fi channel to '48' or '161'. (Disconnections can be due to frequency interference).

7.2. Audio Settings (Call Echo Cancellation)

To adjust call echo cancellation:

1. Go to 'Settings' > 'Audio'.
2. Adjust 'Microphone OP gain' and 'Microphone Pga gain' as needed.
3. For echo correction, click 'Start Auto AEC'. Keep the car quiet during this process.
4. Wait 20 seconds for the estimation to complete.

7.3. Audio Connection Settings (AUX)

For AUX audio connections:

1. In the module interface, turn off 'Use original Bluetooth' under 'System' settings.
2. In the original car interface, navigate to 'Multimedia' and select 'AUX front'.

Important Notes:

• Some models may not have AUX audio. You might need to activate it (e.g., at a service center or by searching online tutorials).
• Bluetooth audio and AUX audio cannot be used simultaneously.
• AirPlay/AutoLink do not support Bluetooth audio; only AUX audio is supported for these functions.

7.4. Bluetooth Audio Settings (AUX-BT)

If your original car supports Bluetooth audio (AUX-BT):

1. Open 'Use Car BT Channel' in the module's system settings and set it to 'ON'.
2. Disable 'Auto Switch AUX' in the vehicle settings.
3. Return to the original car interface, go to 'Settings' > 'Media', and select 'AUX-BT' as the audio mode.
4. Use the original car's Bluetooth to search for and link your cell phone (not the module's Bluetooth).

7.5. Reversing Camera Settings

To configure your reversing camera:

1. In the module settings, select 'Original camera' or 'Aftermarket camera' based on your setup.
2. For aftermarket cameras:
• Connect the 12V camera power (red cable).
• Connect the yellow RCA rear camera video connector.
• No connection is required for the third cable.
3. If the camera is not working properly, try changing the CVBS signal mode in 'Car Settings' > 'Reversing Settings' > 'Camera Format' (e.g., SD NTSC, SD PAL, AHD).

• Original car black screen or cannot enter Carplay system:

• Sound not working in Carplay system:
  Ensure AUX audio or Bluetooth audio is correctly configured. Some models may not support both. Verify the correct BT channel is selected.
• Reversing camera not working:
  Check the camera cable connections, ensure the 12V power supply is correct, and verify the camera format (SD-NTSC/PAL) in the system settings.
• Delayed activation of front/rear view camera:
  Adjust the delay setting in the reversing settings.
• Carplay often disconnects automatically:
  Change the Wi-Fi channel in the system settings to 48 or 161 to mitigate frequency interference.
• Android Auto disconnection issues (after firmware update, for Samsung phones):
  Try these three methods to adjust your phone's settings:
  
  1. Samsung WiFi Settings Connections: Go to Wi-Fi settings, Intelligent Wi-Fi, Connectivity labs, Wi-Fi developer options, Wi-Fi packet log for debugging (turn off), Air log Capture (turn off).
  2. Dual-SIM Configuration Settings: For dual SIM phones, use SIM1 first. Calls and data transmission will default to SIM1.
  3. Clear Google Services Cache: Go to Apps, find Google Play Services, Storage, then 'Clear all data'.

12.1. System Firmware Upgrade

Note: We do not recommend upgrading firmware if the system is functioning normally. Only upgrade if you encounter problems that can be resolved by an update.

Method:

1. Unzip the firmware file to the root directory of a USB flash drive.
2. Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port of the product.
3. Navigate to 'Module Settings' > 'System' > 'Firmware Upgrade' and follow the on-screen instructions for manual upgrade.
