Introduction
The DOREMiDi Audio MIDI Cable (AMC-10) is a versatile USB converter that integrates both sound card and MIDI functions. It is designed to provide seamless connectivity and enhanced audio capabilities for musicians and audio enthusiasts.
The AMC-10 features standard MIDI DIN five-pin input and output plugs, along with a full-speed standard USB-MIDI interface, supporting 16 channels of standard MIDI communication. Beyond its core MIDI functionality, the AMC-10 also incorporates audio recording and monitoring features. It comes equipped with various audio effects such as reverb, chorus, and 3D, and offers up to 10 adjustable EQ parameters. These effect parameters can also be controlled via MIDI, providing extensive creative possibilities.

Setup
Follow these steps to set up your DOREMiDi AMC-10 converter:
- Connect to Computer: Plug the USB connector of the AMC-10 into an available standard full-speed USB port on your Mac or Windows computer. The device is USB class compliant, meaning it should be plug-and-play without requiring additional drivers.
- Connect MIDI Devices:
- Connect the MIDI IN (5-pin DIN) plug of the AMC-10 to the MIDI OUT port of your MIDI DIN five-pin device (e.g., keyboard, synthesizer). This allows your computer to receive MIDI data from the device.
- Connect the MIDI OUT (5-pin DIN) plug of the AMC-10 to the MIDI IN port of your MIDI DIN five-pin device. This allows your computer to send MIDI data to the device.
- Connect Audio Devices:
- For microphone input, connect a 1/8" mono audio cable from your microphone to the 'MIC' input port on the AMC-10.
- For stereo line-level audio input, connect a 1/8" stereo audio cable from your audio source (e.g., instrument, mixer line out) to the 'LINE IN' port on the AMC-10.
- For headphone monitoring, connect your headphones to the 1/8" stereo 'Headphone' output port.

Operating Instructions
The AMC-10 features several indicators and controls for easy operation:
Indicators:
- USB: USB Working Indicator. Illuminates when the device is properly connected and powered via USB.
- IN: MIDI Input Indicator. Flashes when MIDI data is being received through the MIDI IN port.
- OUT: MIDI Output Indicator. Flashes when MIDI data is being sent through the MIDI OUT port.
- SIG: LINE IN Audio Input Indicator. Illuminates when an audio signal is detected at the LINE IN port.
- CLIP: LINE IN Input Overload Indicator. Illuminates when the audio input signal at LINE IN is too strong, indicating potential clipping. Reduce the input volume if this indicator lights up.
Controls:
- Headphone Output Volume: Adjusts the volume level for the 1/8" stereo headphone output.
- LINE IN Volume: Adjusts the input volume level for the 1/8" stereo LINE IN port.
- MODE Button: A long press on this button will enter the MIDI Control Effect Mode, allowing you to control audio effect parameters via MIDI.
Audio Effects Software:
The AMC-10 is equipped with effects control software that supports various audio effects including Reverb, Chorus, EQ, Noise Gate, and Gain. This software allows for fine-tuning of your audio. Up to 10 adjustable EQ parameters are available, and these parameters can be controlled using MIDI messages.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your DOREMiDi AMC-10, please follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Keep the device dry and away from moisture.
- Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Avoid bending or stressing the cables excessively to prevent internal damage.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your AMC-10, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- No Power/USB Indicator:
Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the AMC-10 and your computer. Try a different USB port or cable. - No MIDI Signal (IN/OUT indicators not flashing):
Verify that your MIDI devices are properly connected to the AMC-10's MIDI IN/OUT ports. Check that your MIDI device is powered on and configured to send/receive MIDI data. Confirm that your software (DAW, etc.) is correctly configured to use the AMC-10 as a MIDI interface. - No Audio Input/Output:
Check all 1/8" audio cable connections for headphones, microphone, and line-in. Adjust the Headphone Output Volume and LINE IN Volume knobs. Ensure your computer's audio settings and your recording software are configured to use the AMC-10 as the audio input/output device. - LINE IN CLIP Indicator Illuminates:
This indicates that the audio input signal is too strong and may cause distortion. Reduce the output volume from your audio source or adjust the LINE IN Volume knob on the AMC-10 until the CLIP indicator no longer lights up. - Compatibility Issues:
The AMC-10 is compatible with Mac and Windows computers. For Linux users, while not officially supported, some users report success with generic USB audio/MIDI drivers. Performance may vary on Linux systems.
