4. Mechanical Structures and Installation
The DH8 unit is designed for Din Rail mounting. Ensure proper ventilation and access to terminals for wiring.

4.1 Wiring Diagram
Refer to the diagram below for correct wiring connections. Pay close attention to the DALI signal input, which does not distinguish plus/minus polarity, and the AC input for power.

4.2 Connection Points
- DALI Input: Connect DALI DA1 and DA2. Polarity is not distinguished.
- DMX Input: Connect DMX D+ and D-.
- AC Input: Connect Live (L) and Neutral (N) to the 100-240VAC power supply.
- Relay Outputs: 8 independent relay outputs (1# to 8#) for connecting to LED lamps or other loads. Each output has two terminals for connection.
- Ground (GND): Connect to system ground if required.
Warning: Ensure all power is disconnected before performing any wiring to prevent electric shock.
5. Operation
The DH8 unit features an LED segment display and three buttons (Up, Down, M) for configuration and control.
5.1 Work Mode Setting
Short press the M button to cycle through the three operating modes: DALI mode, Manual mode, and DMX mode.
- DALI mode: The display will show "dAxx" or "dUxx", where 'xx' represents the DALI address.
- Manual mode: The display will show "HIxx" or "Hxx", where 'x' indicates the channel number (1-8).
- DMX mode: The display will show "Axxx", where 'xxx' represents the DMX start address.
5.2 DALI Mode Operation
In DALI mode, you can set the DALI address:
- Set DALI Address:
- Short press Up or Down buttons to set the DALI address.
- Long press Up or Down buttons for 2 seconds to prepare for setup DALI address.
- Short press M button or wait for 10 seconds (timeout) to quit DALI address setting.
- DALI Address Assignment by DALI Masters:
- DALI addresses can also be assigned by a DALI Master controller automatically. Refer to your DALI controller's manual for specific operations.
- When a DALI master assigns an address, the digital display will show "dAxx".
- After an address is assigned, the display will show the start DALI address "dAxx", where 'xx' is from 00 to 63.
- If the DALI master assigns addresses that result in discontinuous addresses, the starting DALI address "dUxx" will be displayed.
5.3 Manual Mode Operation
In Manual mode, you can control individual channels:
- The display shows "HIxx" or "Hxx", where 'x' is the channel number (1-8). "ON" indicates the channel is ON, "OFF" indicates it's OFF.
- Short press Up or Down buttons to switch between channels.
- Short press M button to switch the selected channel ON/OFF.
5.4 DMX Mode Operation
In DMX mode, you can set the DMX start address:
- The display shows "Axxx", where 'xxx' is the DMX start address.
- Long press Up or Down buttons for 2 seconds to prepare for setup DMX address.
- Short press Up or Down buttons to set the DMX start address.
- Short press M button or wait for 10 seconds (timeout) to quit DMX address setting.
- DMX Address Setting Logic:
- When DMX data value is 0, the relay output is OFF.
- When DMX data value is >200, the relay output is ON.
- When DMX data value is between 50 and 200, the relay maintains its previous ON/OFF status.
6. User Tips
- Always double-check wiring connections before applying power to prevent damage to the unit or connected devices.
- For DALI systems, ensure your DALI master controller is properly configured to communicate with the DH8 unit.
- When using DMX, verify that the DMX start address on the DH8 matches your DMX controller's settings.
- Consider the maximum load per channel (16A resistive, 10A inductive) to avoid overloading the relays.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your DH8 unit, consider the following:
- No Power/Display Off:
- Check the AC input voltage (100-240V) and ensure connections are secure.
- Verify the power source is active.
- Relays Not Switching:
- Confirm the unit is in the correct operating mode (DALI, DMX, or Manual).
- In Manual mode, ensure the selected channel is toggled ON.
- In DALI/DMX modes, verify the control signal is present and correctly addressed.
- Check the load connected to the relay; ensure it's within the maximum current specifications.
- Incorrect DALI/DMX Addressing:
- Review the DALI or DMX address settings on the DH8 unit and compare them with your master controller.
- For DALI, try re-assigning addresses from the DALI master.
- Intermittent Operation:
- Check all wiring for loose connections or damage.
- Ensure the operating temperature is within the specified range (-20°C to 55°C).
If problems persist, contact your supplier or a qualified technician for further assistance.
