5. Installation and Setup

5.1 General Installation Guidelines

  • Ensure the inverter is installed in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and flammable materials.
  • Mount the inverter securely on a vertical surface.
  • Install appropriate switches for each circuit (battery, PV, mains, load) as per local electrical codes.
  • Refer to the detailed wiring diagram in the full manual for precise connection instructions.

5.2 Battery Connection

The inverter supports 48VDC battery systems. Compatible battery types include:

  • Lead-acid batteries
  • Gel batteries
  • Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePo4) batteries
  • Other Lithium batteries (USER defined)

Important: The battery capacity should not be less than 100AH. When solar energy is present, setting the battery type to LIB (Lithium-Ion Battery) will activate the lithium battery after 3 seconds.

Compatible Battery Types

5.3 PV Array Connection

The inverter supports dual PV input. Ensure your PV array voltage and power are within the specified limits:

  • MPPT Range & Operating Voltage: 60VDC ~ 500VDC
  • Maximum PV Array Open Circuit Voltage: 500VDC
  • Max. PV Array Power: 6500W

5.4 Connection Sequence

Follow this sequence for safe startup:

  1. Turn on the battery switch.
  2. Start the inverter.
  3. Turn on the PV switches.
  4. Turn on the mains (utility) switch.
  5. Turn on the load switches.

6. Operating Modes

The inverter offers multiple charging and output modes to optimize power usage:

6.1 Charging Modes

  • Solar Priority: Solar power is prioritized for charging the battery.
  • Solar + Utility: Both solar power and utility power are used to charge the battery.
  • Only Solar: Only solar power is used for charging.

6.2 Output Modes

  • Solar Priority: Solar power is prioritized to supply the load.
  • Utility Priority: Utility power is prioritized to supply the load.
  • SBU Mode: Solar power is prioritized, then Battery, then Utility.

9. User Tips

  • Inductive Loads: When connecting inductive load appliances (e.g., refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners), ensure the inverter's power rating is at least three times the total power of these appliances to handle their high starting current.
  • Grid Connection: This is a hybrid inverter. It can be connected to the grid, with PV power prioritizing the load, then charging the battery, and any excess potentially feeding back to the grid (subject to local regulations).
  • Battery-Free Operation: The inverter can operate without a battery, making it flexible for direct solar-to-load applications.
  • Lithium Battery Activation: For lithium batteries, ensure the battery type is correctly set in the inverter's settings. The inverter has a built-in activation function for lithium batteries when solar power is available.

10. Troubleshooting (FAQ)

Q: Can inverters be connected in series or parallel?
A: No, this model (J6200HC) does not support series or parallel connection.
Q: Can it be used in air conditioners, water pumps, and wind turbines?
A: It can be used with air conditioners. However, it is not suitable for water pumps and wind turbines.
Q: The inverter is not starting or providing power.
A: Check the connection sequence: ensure the battery switch is on, then the inverter, then PV, then mains, and finally the load switches. Verify all connections are secure and correct.
Q: My inductive load appliance (e.g., refrigerator) is not starting.
A: Inductive loads have high starting power. Ensure the inverter's rated power is at least three times the total power of your inductive appliances. If the starting power exceeds the inverter's capacity, it may not start or could be damaged.

11. Maintenance

  • Regular Cleaning: Keep the inverter's ventilation openings clear of dust and debris to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Connection Checks: Periodically inspect all electrical connections (PV, battery, AC input/output) for tightness and signs of corrosion.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the inverter remains within its specified operating temperature range (-10℃ to 60℃) and is not exposed to excessive moisture or direct sunlight.
  • Firmware Updates: If using the WiFi monitoring feature, check for available firmware updates through the mobile application to ensure optimal performance and security.
