Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your stand mixer.

  • After Each Use: Immediately after use, unplug the mixer. Remove the mixing bowl and attachments. Wash them in warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly.
  • Main Unit: Wipe the main unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
  • Stubborn Residue: For stubborn food residue, soak the bowl and attachments in warm, soapy water before cleaning.
  • Storage: Ensure all parts are completely dry before storing. Store the mixer in a clean, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Troubleshooting

  • Mixer Does Not Turn On: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Check if the mixer head is fully locked down.
  • Motor Sounds Strained: This may indicate the bowl is overloaded or the ingredients are too thick for the selected speed/attachment. Reduce the load or adjust the speed.
  • Attachments Not Reaching Ingredients: Ensure the mixing bowl is correctly seated and locked on the base.
  • Excessive Vibration/Noise: Check that the mixer is on a stable, flat surface and that all attachments and the bowl are securely fastened.

User Tips

  • Start Slow: Always begin mixing at the lowest speed setting and gradually increase to prevent splashing and ensure thorough incorporation of ingredients.
  • Scrape Down Sides: Periodically stop the mixer and use a spatula to scrape down the sides of the bowl to ensure all ingredients are evenly mixed.
  • Don't Overmix: Overmixing can lead to tough baked goods. Mix only until ingredients are just combined, especially for batters.
  • Room Temperature Ingredients: For best results in baking, ensure ingredients like butter and eggs are at room temperature before mixing.
  • Proper Attachment Use: Using the correct attachment for the task (dough hook for kneading, whisk for whipping, beater for general mixing) will yield the best results and prolong the life of your mixer.
