3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the device using the provided Type-C USB cable. Connect the cable to the Charging or USB Communication Interface on the side of the device and to a standard USB power adapter (not included).

3.2 Power On/Off

Press and hold the Power Switch Key to turn the device on or off.

3.3 Language Selection

The device supports 8 languages. To change the language, navigate to the System Settings menu using the System Key and select the desired language option.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 General Operation

  • Mode Selection: Press the Mode Key to switch between Oscilloscope, Multimeter, and Signal Generator modes.
  • Navigation: Use the Direction Keys (Up, Down, Left, Right) to navigate through menus and adjust parameter values.
  • Confirmation/Selection: The center button within the direction keys often serves as a confirmation or selection button.
  • Return: Press the Return Key (↩) to go back to the previous menu or exit a function.

4.2 Oscilloscope Mode

The oscilloscope function allows you to visualize electrical signals. The HO51 features a single channel with a 50MHz bandwidth and 250MSa/s sampling rate.

  1. Connect Probe: Connect the oscilloscope probe to the Measured Signal Input Connector (HD).
  2. Select Mode: Ensure the device is in Oscilloscope mode using the Mode Key.
  3. Adjust Settings:
    • Use the Channel Key (CH) to configure channel settings.
    • Use the Trigger Menu Key (Trig/Δ) to set trigger conditions (Auto, Normal, Single; Rising edge, Falling edge).
    • Adjust vertical scale (Volts/Div) and horizontal time base (Time/Div) using the Direction Keys or Multi-Function Keys (F1-F4) as indicated on the screen.
    • Press the Automatic Setting Key (Auto) for quick automatic waveform display optimization.
  4. Start/Stop Acquisition: Press the Stop/Run Key (▶/‖) to start or stop waveform acquisition.
  5. Measurements: Use the Measurement Menu Key (Measure Range) to display various waveform parameters.

4.3 Signal Generator Mode

The signal generator can output various waveforms for testing circuits.

  1. Connect Output: Connect the signal generator output from the Probe Compensation / Signal Generator Output Connector to your circuit.
  2. Select Mode: Switch to Signal Generator mode using the Mode Key.
  3. Configure Waveform:
    • Use the Multi-Function Keys (F1-F4) and Direction Keys to select the desired waveform type (Sine, Square, Ramp, Pulse).
    • Adjust the frequency (10Hz-100KHz for Sine, Square, Ramp; 10Hz-10KHz for Pulse) and amplitude (1Vpp or 2.5Vpp).
  4. Output Signal: The device will continuously output the configured signal.

4.4 Multimeter Mode

The multimeter function provides precise measurements of voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, and performs continuity and diode tests.

  1. Connect Test Leads: Insert the red and black test leads into the appropriate Multimeter Input Ports (e.g., COM for black, VΩC+ for red for voltage/resistance). Ensure correct polarity and port selection for the measurement type.
  2. Select Mode: Switch to Multimeter mode using the Mode Key.
  3. Select Measurement: Use the Measurement Menu Key (Measure Range) to select the desired measurement type (Voltage, Current, Resistance, Capacitance, On/Off Test, Diode Test).
  4. Auto Ranging: The device supports auto-ranging. You can also use the Automatic Setting Key (Auto) to enable/disable auto-ranging.
  5. Read Measurement: The measurement will be displayed on the screen.
  6. Hold Value: Press the Stop/Run Key (▶/‖) to hold the current reading.

4.5 Waveform Saving & Data Export

The HO51 allows you to save captured waveforms and export data for further analysis on a computer.

  1. Save Waveform: In Oscilloscope mode, after capturing a desired waveform, press the Save Key to store it internally.
  2. Connect to PC: Connect the device to your computer using the Type-C USB cable via the Charging or USB Communication Interface.
  3. Data Transfer: The device should appear as a removable storage device or be accessible via dedicated software (if provided by the manufacturer) for exporting saved waveform data.
