USB Charging Function

The weather station is equipped with a USB port (Output: 5V 1A) for charging electronic devices. Important: When using the USB charging feature, ensure the weather station is powered by its original power cord. Do NOT rely solely on batteries for power when charging other devices, as this can quickly drain the batteries and may not provide stable power.

Weather Forecast

The weather station provides a forecast for the next 6-12 hours based on changes in barometric pressure. This is an approximate indication and should not be compared to professional weather services. Always prioritize local weather forecasts for critical information.

Figure 7: Examples of the 6-mode weather forecast icons displayed on the screen, representing various weather conditions.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the weather station and sensor with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in both the main unit and the sensor when the low battery indicator appears on the display. Ensure correct polarity.
  • Sensor Protection: The wireless sensor has an IP54 waterproof level, meaning it is protected from dust and splashing water. However, avoid submerging it in water or exposing it to heavy rain for extended periods.
  • Storage: If storing the device for a long period, remove all batteries to prevent leakage.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible Cause / Solution
No outdoor temperature/humidity reading.
  • Ensure batteries are correctly installed in the remote sensor and are not depleted.
  • Check if the sensor is within the 200 ft (60m) transmission range.
  • Reduce obstacles between the sensor and the main unit (e.g., thick walls, metal objects).
  • Re-synchronize the sensor by removing and reinserting batteries in both units, then waiting a few minutes.
  • Verify the sensor's channel switch matches the selected channel on the main unit.
Inaccurate weather forecast.
  • The forecast is based on barometric pressure trends over 6-12 hours, not real-time conditions. It's an approximation.
  • Ensure the weather station has been operating for at least 24 hours to establish a baseline for pressure changes.
USB charging port not working.
  • The weather station must be powered by the included power adaptor for the USB charging port to function. It will not work on battery power alone.
  • Ensure the power adaptor is securely connected and plugged into a live outlet.
Display is dim or blank.
  • Check if the power adaptor is connected or if batteries are depleted.
  • Adjust the brightness using the SNOOZE/LIGHT button.

User Tips

  • For the most accurate outdoor temperature and humidity readings, place the remote sensor in a shaded area, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. This prevents false high readings.
  • When setting up multiple sensors, ensure each sensor is assigned a unique channel (CH1, CH2, CH3) to avoid interference and ensure correct data display on the main unit.
  • If you experience connectivity issues, try moving the outdoor sensor closer to the main unit or repositioning both devices to minimize obstructions.
  • To prolong battery life, especially in the outdoor sensor, consider using high-quality alkaline batteries.
