1. Introduction

The Meatrol ME440 & MRC-36 3P4W Power Quality Analyzer is a multifunctional handheld power meter designed for comprehensive analysis of electrical power systems. It measures currents, voltages, power factor, real power, reactive power, and harmonics, providing real-time RMS values for all 3-phases and neutral. This device is suitable for engineering testing and distribution system inspection and maintenance, offering high accuracy and convenience.

2. Components and Accessories

The standard package for the ME440 Power Quality Analyzer includes the following items:

  • ME440 Power Quality Analyzer Host
  • 2 Lithium batteries (2*2900mAh PANASONIC, providing approximately 10 hours of working time)
  • Network cables for product connection
  • 5V DC power supply (adapter included)
  • Protective carrying case

Optional current coils are available for various measurement needs:

  • NRC-200 (200mm): 6000A current circle, inner diameter 200mm, 50mV/kA.
  • NRC-150 (150mm): 3000A current loop, inner diameter 150mm, 50mV/kA.
  • MRC-36 (36mm): 5A current loop TRC-36, inner diameter 36mm, 50mV/kA.
  • ST08: 5A current clamp, inner diameter 8mm, 333mV/kA.

3. Setup and Connections

Before operating the device, ensure it is properly set up and connected to the electrical system you intend to analyze.

3.1 Powering the Device

The ME440 can be powered by its internal 2*2900mAh PANASONIC lithium batteries or an external 5V DC power supply (adapter included). Ensure batteries are charged for portable use.

3.2 Input Terminals

The device features multiple input terminals for connecting various probes and coils:

  • 4pcs BNC terminal for 333mV CT (Current Transformer) connections.
  • 4pcs BNC terminal for Rogowski coil connections.

3.3 Wiring Diagrams

The following diagrams illustrate various wiring configurations for the power quality analyzer. Ensure correct connections for accurate measurements. Please note that Rogowski coil secondary output voltage should not exceed 300mV rms, and CT voltage output secondary output should not exceed 300mV rms.

4. Operating Instructions

The ME440 Power Analyzer features a clear LCD display and intuitive button controls for easy navigation and data viewing.

4.1 Interface Overview and Button Functions

  • A: "Up" - Switch cursor up.
  • B: "Down" - Switch cursor down.
  • C: "Left" - Switch cursor left.
  • D: "Right" - Switch cursor right.
  • E: "ESC" - Return to previous menu or enter Menu.
  • F: "INFO" - Enter information to check series, FW version No.
  • G: "Enter" - Switch to secondary interface.
  • H: "Light" - Background light switch, 5 levels for choice.
  • I: "Power" - ON/OFF. Long press for 3 seconds after a buzzing sound to power on/off.

Note:

After entering a secondary interface, pressing "Left" and "Right" may not switch the bottom item. You will need to return to the main interface to switch these items.

  • Ensure batteries are charged regularly, especially before extended periods of storage, to maintain battery health.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight.
  • Periodically check all cables and connectors for wear and tear. Replace any damaged components immediately.

6. Troubleshooting

Device does not power on Low battery or power adapter issue Charge batteries or check power adapter connection. Long press power button (I) for 3 seconds.
Inaccurate readings Incorrect wiring or faulty probes Verify all wiring connections according to the diagrams in Section 3.3. Check probes for damage or proper connection.
Display is dim Backlight setting is low Press the "Light" button (H) to adjust the backlight level (5 levels available).
