Setup
Initial Charging
Before first use, fully charge the Povasee A40 Jump Starter. Connect the Type-C charging cable to the input port of the jump starter and to a suitable USB power adapter (not included). The LCD display will show the charging status and remaining power. A full charge is indicated by 100% on the display.
Operating Instructions
Jump Starting a Vehicle
Ensure the jump starter is sufficiently charged (above 20%) before attempting to jump-start a vehicle.
- Insert Smart Clip: Plug the smart jumper cable connector firmly into the jump starter's EC5 port.
- Connect to Vehicle Battery: Attach the red clamp to the vehicle's positive (+) battery terminal and the black clamp to the vehicle's negative (-) battery terminal. Ensure a secure connection. The indicator light on the smart clamp will show the connection status.
- Start Car Engine: Once connected correctly, start your car engine. If the car does not start immediately, wait a few seconds and try again.
- Remove Cables: After the car starts, immediately remove the smart clamps from the vehicle battery, then unplug the smart clip from the jump starter.
Force Start Function (for completely dead batteries):
If the vehicle battery is completely dead and the jump starter does not automatically detect it, you can use the force start function:
- Follow steps 1 and 2 above.
- Press and hold the "RST" button on the EC5 adapter (smart clamp) for 3 seconds. The green light on the adapter will turn solid green.
- Within 30 seconds, start your car engine.
- Immediately remove the smart clamps from the vehicle battery, then unplug the smart clip from the jump starter.

Using as a Power Bank
The Povasee A40 can charge various electronic devices:
- USB Outputs: Use the USB 1 (5V/2.4A) or USB 2 (QC3.0) ports to charge smartphones, tablets, cameras, Kindle, etc. Connect your device's charging cable to the appropriate USB port on the jump starter.
- 12V DC Output: Use the included cigarette lighter converter with the 12V/10A DC output port to power 12V devices like gas pumps or car vacuum cleaners.
