1. Introduction

The Godox TR Series Wireless Timer Remote Control is a versatile multi-functional shutter remote designed for camera photography. It features advanced image stabilization and an exposure timer function, making it ideal for various creative photography techniques. With its exposure timer and interval settings, you can capture stunning time-lapse photos of star trails, sunsets, blooming flowers, seascapes, and more. This portable and lightweight device allows photographers to easily trigger their camera and compatible Godox flashlights simultaneously, enhancing creative possibilities.

The TR Series utilizes 2.4GHz Wireless Transmission technology, ensuring reliable remote control from distances up to 100 meters. With 32 available channels, it effectively eliminates interference from other similar devices, providing accurate connection and control over your camera.

3.1 Transmitter (TR-TX)

The TR-TX unit features an LCD display for settings, control buttons for navigation (SET, directional buttons), a shutter release button, and a power button. It allows for programming various timer shooting functions.

3.2 Receiver (TR-RX)

The TR-RX unit is compact, featuring a channel display, a power button, and a connection port for the shutter cable. It receives signals from the TR-TX to trigger the camera.

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Open the battery compartment cover on the back of both the TR-TX (Transmitter) and TR-RX (Receiver) units.
  2. Insert two AA batteries into each unit, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment covers securely.

Note: AA batteries are not included and must be purchased separately.

4.2 Connecting to Camera

  1. Select the appropriate shutter cable for your camera model (e.g., TR-C1 for Canon, TR-N1 for Nikon, TR-S1 for Sony).
  2. Connect one end of the shutter cable to the receiver (TR-RX) unit.
  3. Connect the other end of the shutter cable to the remote control port on your camera.

4.3 Powering On/Off

  • Press and hold the power button on both the TR-TX and TR-RX units to turn them on or off.
  • Ensure both units are powered on for wireless operation.

4.4 Channel Setting

The TR Series offers 32 channels to prevent interference. Ensure both the transmitter and receiver are set to the same channel.

  1. On the TR-TX (Transmitter), use the navigation buttons to select the 'CH' setting.
  2. Adjust the channel number to your desired setting (1-32).
  3. On the TR-RX (Receiver), press the 'CH' button to cycle through channels until it matches the transmitter's channel.
  4. A successful connection will be indicated on the display of both units.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Shutter Release

  • With both units powered on and connected to the camera, press the shutter release button on the TR-TX (Transmitter) to trigger your camera's shutter.
  • A half-press may activate autofocus, and a full press will take the photo, depending on your camera's settings.

5.2 Timer Shooting Modes

The TR-TX unit provides 6 settings for advanced timer shooting. Use the 'SET' button and navigation controls to adjust parameters.

  1. DELAY (Delay Time): Sets the delay before the first shot is taken (0s to 99h 59min 59s).
  2. LONG (Exposure Time): Sets the duration of the shutter open time for long exposures (0s to 99h 59min 59s).
  3. INTVL1 (Interval Time between every shots): Sets the time between consecutive shots in a sequence (0s to 99h 59min 59s).
  4. INTVL1N (Number of Shots): Sets the total number of shots to be taken in a sequence (1-999 or infinite).
  5. INTVL2 (Repeat Timer Schedule Interval Time): Sets the interval for repeating a schedule (0s to 99h 59min 59s).
  6. INTVL2N (Repeat Timer Schedule Times): Sets the number of times the entire schedule will repeat (1-999 or infinite).

Note: All time settings can be adjusted with an increment of 1 second.

To create time-lapse photos, program your "Photographing Schedule" by setting the DELAY, LONG, INTVL1, and INTVL1N functions. This allows for creative time-lapse photos, light painting, seascapes, and more.

5.4 Image Stabilization

Using the TR Series remote helps to reduce any shaky hand movements and eliminates unwanted blurs. This results in better quality images, especially under high magnification or at slow shutter speeds, preserving fine details.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure fresh AA batteries are correctly installed in both the transmitter and receiver. Check battery polarity.
  • No Connection/Triggering:
    • Verify both units are powered on.
    • Ensure the transmitter and receiver are set to the same channel.
    • Check that the shutter cable is securely connected to both the receiver and the camera's remote port.
    • Confirm your camera is set to a remote control mode if required.
    • Ensure the distance between the transmitter and receiver is within the 100m operating range and there are no major obstructions.
  • Incorrect Timer Function: Double-check all timer settings (DELAY, LONG, INTVL1, INTVL1N, INTVL2, INTVL2N) on the TR-TX unit. Ensure they are programmed as intended for your desired shooting mode.
  • Interference: If experiencing unreliable triggering, try changing the channel on both the transmitter and receiver to an unused frequency. The TR Series offers 32 channels to choose from.

9. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the units. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries from both units to prevent leakage and damage. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Handling: Avoid dropping the units or subjecting them to strong impacts. Keep away from water and high humidity.
