5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Choosing Your Microphone

  • Soft Mic: Typically suitable for full-face helmets.
  • Hard Mic: Generally used for open-face or modular helmets.

5.2 Mounting the Intercom Unit

Use the provided mounting clips and Velcro installation package to securely attach the intercom unit to your helmet. Ensure the unit is positioned where it is easily accessible for button operation but does not obstruct your vision or helmet functionality.

6. Operation

6.1 Function Keys Overview

The Y10 intercom features physical pressure buttons designed for easy operation even while wearing gloves.

  • '+' Button: Short press for Volume Up. Long press for Next Song.
  • Microphone Button: Short press to activate Voice Assistant. Long press to Power On/Off. Short press to enter Intercom Mode. Long press (in intercom mode) to enter transmitting mode for pairing.
  • '-' Button: Short press for Volume Down. Long press for Previous Song.

6.2 Power On/Off

To power on or off the device, long press the Microphone Button.

6.3 Bluetooth Pairing (First Device)

When the device is powered on for the first time, it will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode. Search for 'Y10' on your mobile phone's Bluetooth settings and connect.

6.4 Connecting Two Devices Simultaneously (Intelligent One-Two)

The Y10 supports connecting to two Bluetooth devices at the same time. This allows you to freely switch between devices to listen to music, receive navigation instructions, and answer calls.

6.5 Intercom Pairing and Communication

For two Y10 units to communicate, one unit must be in intercom receiving mode and the other in intercom transmitting mode before pairing.

  1. Power On Both Units: Ensure both Y10 intercom units are powered on.
  2. Enter Intercom Mode: Short press the Microphone Button on both units to enter intercom mode. At this point, both units will be in intercom receiving mode.
  3. Initiate Pairing: Long press the Microphone Button on one of the units. This unit will enter intercom transmitting mode for pairing.
  4. Confirmation: The green indicator light will blink quickly on the transmitting unit (emission mode) and slowly on the receiving unit. Once connected, the green indicator will blink once every 1 second on both units, and a voice prompt will confirm the connection. Intercom conversation can now begin.

6.6 Voice Assistant

The Y10 supports voice assistant functions (e.g., Siri, Google Assistant). Short press the Microphone Button to wake up your mobile phone's voice assistant. This allows for hands-free operation, reducing errors and improving convenience.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

7.2 Waterproofing

The Y10 intercom is IPX6 rated, meaning it is dust and mud splash resistant. It is designed to withstand rain, snow, and dust during your motorcycle journey. However, it is not recommended to submerge the device in water for extended periods.

7.3 Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the device using the provided Type-C cable. The device supports fast charging, providing 3 hours of life from a 20-minute charge.

8. Troubleshooting

Voice assistant not responding.Ensure the intercom is connected to your mobile phone via Bluetooth. Short press the microphone button to activate the voice assistant. Check your phone's settings to ensure the voice assistant is enabled and accessible via Bluetooth devices.
Poor audio quality or noise.Ensure the microphone is correctly positioned and not obstructed. Check for any loose connections. The device features DSP & CVC intelligent noise reduction, but extreme wind noise or external interference can still affect quality.
