  • Lubricate the caster swivels and wheel axles with a general-purpose grease or oil to ensure smooth movement.
  • Clean any debris, such as dust or hair, from around the wheels to prevent obstruction.

Drawer Maintenance

  • Lubricate the ball-bearing drawer slides with a light lubricant as needed to maintain smooth operation.
  • Ensure drawer liners are clean and free of debris to protect tools and drawer surfaces.

Care and Cleaning

  • Periodically clean the drawers, body, and other surfaces of the tool chest with a mild detergent and water.
  • Wipe the unit dry with a soft, clean cloth immediately after cleaning to prevent rust.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or scouring pads, as these can damage the powder-coated finish.

Troubleshooting

  • Drawers are stiff or not sliding smoothly: Check if the drawer slides are clean and free of debris. Apply a light lubricant to the ball-bearing slides. Ensure the drawer is not overloaded or unevenly weighted.
  • Tool chest is unstable or tips easily: Ensure the unit is on a level surface. Do not open more than one drawer at a time. Distribute heavy items in lower drawers to maintain a low center of gravity.
  • Casters are not rolling smoothly: Check for debris wrapped around the wheels or axles. Lubricate the caster swivels and wheel axles. Ensure locking casters are disengaged when moving.
  • Lock mechanism is not working: Ensure all drawers are fully closed before attempting to lock. Check if the key is fully inserted and turned correctly. Inspect the lock bar for any obstructions or damage.
