Important Notes and Warnings
- Optimal Video Performance: For optimal video output performance, use certified DP 1.4 / USB-C cables.
- 4K@120Hz Requirements: When using 4K@120Hz, ensure that both your computer's graphics card and display support this resolution and refresh rate.
- Front Panel USB-C Port: The USB-C port on the front panel supports data transfer only; it does not support PD charging or video output.
- Power Adapter: The included power adapter is rated at 60W (20V-3.6A). While the KVM switch supports up to 100W PD charging for PC1, ensure your laptop's power requirements are met. If your laptop requires more than 60W, it may charge slower or not at full speed.
- Cable Length: It is recommended that input/output cable lengths be ≤3 meters (for 4K@60Hz) to ensure optimal signal quality and stability.
- PC2 Connection: For normal dual screen output and USB data transfer for PC2, ensure all required video (HDMI/DP) and USB cables are connected as per your specific model's diagram.
User Tips
- Cable Quality: Investing in high-quality, certified DP 1.4 and USB-C cables can significantly improve video stability and data transfer speeds, especially for high resolutions and refresh rates.
- Power Management: If your laptop requires more than 60W for optimal charging, consider using your laptop's original power adapter directly or a higher wattage USB-C PD charger if the KVM's 100W PD capability is crucial for your setup.
- Initial Setup: Always connect all video, USB, and power cables before turning on the KVM switch and connected computers to ensure proper detection and initialization.
- Desktop Control: Utilize the external control kit for convenient switching if the KVM unit is placed out of easy reach.
Troubleshooting
- No Display on Monitor:
- Ensure all video cables (HDMI/DP) are securely connected between the KVM, computers, and monitors.
- Verify that the correct input source is selected on your monitor.
- Check if the KVM switch is powered on and the PC indicator light corresponds to the active computer.
- Confirm that your computer's graphics card and monitors support the selected resolution and refresh rate.
- For PC1 (USB-C input), ensure the laptop's USB-C port supports DP Alt Mode for video output.
- Keyboard/Mouse Not Responding:
- Ensure the USB cables connecting your computers to the KVM switch are properly installed.
- Verify that the keyboard and mouse are connected to the dedicated USB 3.0 ports on the rear panel of the KVM switch.
- Try reconnecting the keyboard and mouse.
- Intermittent Display/Signal Loss:
- Use high-quality, certified cables, especially for longer runs.
- Ensure cable lengths do not exceed the recommended 3 meters for 4K@60Hz.
- Check for any electromagnetic interference from other devices.
- Laptop Not Charging (PC1 via USB-C):
- Confirm your laptop's USB-C port supports Power Delivery (PD).
- Ensure the USB-C cable used supports PD charging.
- Note that the included power adapter is 60W; if your laptop requires more, it may charge slower.
- macOS Display Issues (No Extended Display):
- macOS typically supports mirror display only through this KVM switch. Extended display (MST) is generally not supported on macOS via the USB-C port.
