4. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your Magic Chef pressure cooker.
4.1 Inner Pot
The inner pot features a durable 1.8mm non-stick coating. After each use, wash the inner pot with warm, soapy water and a soft sponge. Avoid abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads that could damage the non-stick surface.

4.2 Detachable Lid
The lid is designed to be detachable for thorough cleaning. Remove the lid and wash it with warm, soapy water. Pay attention to the rubber gasket and ensure no food particles are trapped. Rinse and dry completely before reattaching.
4.3 Water Collector
The water collector, located on the side of the unit, collects condensation during cooking. Regularly remove and empty the water collector, then wash and dry it before reattaching.

4.4 Exterior
Wipe the exterior of the main unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Ensure the unit is unplugged and cool before cleaning.
5. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Magic Chef pressure cooker, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Unit does not turn on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into both the cooker and a working electrical outlet.
- "OPEN" message on display: This indicates that the lid is not properly closed or locked. Open the lid, realign it, and close it firmly until the message disappears. The safety sensor prevents operation if the lid is not secure.

- Food not cooking properly: Verify that the correct cooking program was selected and that the water/ingredient ratios are accurate for the recipe. Ensure the inner pot is correctly seated.
- Excessive steam leakage: Check if the lid gasket is properly installed and clean. Ensure the lid is closed securely.
