2. Setup and Installation

2.1 Pre-Installation Checks

  1. Ensure all accessories are present in the package. If anything is missing, contact customer service.
  2. Turn off the car engine completely before beginning installation.
  3. Insert a high-speed TF-Card (Class 10 or above) into the Card Slot on the Car DVR. The maximum supported volume is 128GB.

2.2 Installation Steps

The dash cam is designed for non-destructive installation, supporting multiple power connection methods.

  1. Confirm Position: We suggest installing the dash cam near the rearview mirror or in the middle of the windshield for optimal coverage. Clean the chosen area with a cloth, ensuring no dirt remains.
  2. Attach Dash Cam: Find the matched 3M double-sided tape, peel off the backing, and firmly attach the dash cam to the selected installation position.
  3. Connect Power: The dash cam supports various power connection methods:
    • Plug and Play Cable: This method uses existing power sources like rain sensors, reading light panels, sunroofs, or anti-glare devices. This is generally the easiest method.
    • ACC Cable to Fuse Box: Connect the ACC cable to the car's fuse box power supply. This method supports all vehicle models and is required for 24-hour parking monitoring.
    • OBD Cable: Connect the power supply using an OBD cable. This method also supports all vehicle models.
    • USB Plug: For some models, power can be supplied via a USB plug.
  4. Route Cables: Carefully route all connecting cables to ensure they are hidden and do not obstruct your view or interfere with vehicle operation.

3.2 Indicator Lights

  • Red Light: Blinks when Wi-Fi is connected, stays solid when Wi-Fi is not connected.
  • Blue Light: Flashes when recording, stays solid when recording is stopped.

3.3 Automatic Recording Function

The Car DVR will power on and start recording automatically when the car starts. The blue indicator will flash. The Car DVR will save the records and power off automatically when the car engine is turned off. Recorded images are saved on the memory card as clips. When the memory card is full, new clips will automatically overwrite old clips (loop recording). The default recording time is 1 minute per clip.

3.4 Loop Recording

The device supports video segmentation recording and automatically starts loop recording. It overwrites the earliest video files when the memory card is full, ensuring continuous recording without missing seconds. Previously unlocked video clips will be covered.

3.5 24-Hour Parking Monitoring

This function requires connecting the ACC cable to the fuse box power supply. After the car is turned off, the recorder enters standby mode. If the car is subjected to severe vibrations, the recorder will automatically turn on and record for 30-60 seconds before automatically turning off to avoid battery depletion.

3.6 Gravity Sensing (G-Sensor) and Emergency Lock

The gravity sensing emergency locking function automatically locks the current video file in case of a collision or significant vibration, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording.

3.7 Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) and High Dynamic Stabilization (HDR)

The dash cam utilizes WDR synthesis technology and HDR stabilization to combine light and dark contrasts, ensuring clear and true-to-life picture quality even in challenging weather conditions or varying light environments.

3.8 H.265 Video Encoding Technology

The dash cam employs H.265 video encoding to reduce real-time latency, improve video compression efficiency, and enhance image quality. This technology also saves memory space and allows for longer video duration compared to older encoding methods like H.264.

4. Maintenance

4.1 TF Card Maintenance

It is recommended to format the TF card once every other month. Before formatting, back up any important data. Periodically formatting the DVR memory card helps prevent data loss and ensures normal operation of the DVR.

4.2 Cleaning

Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the dash cam lens and body. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the device.

5. Troubleshooting

Q: Why can't I turn on the DVR?
A: Ensure the DVR is properly connected to your car's power supply. The device requires power to operate.
Q: How to set the date and time of the DVR?
A: Connect your phone to the DVR via Wi-Fi, and the date and time will automatically update to match your phone's settings.
Q: How to tell if the DVR is recording?
A: If your phone is not connected via Wi-Fi, the blue LED will flash when recording and stay solid when not recording. If your phone is connected via Wi-Fi, both the red and blue LEDs will flash when recording.
Q: The app cannot connect to the DVR?
A:
  • Check if the TF card is faulty or if the recorder indicator is blinking. If the TF card is pulled out, boot the device to check for a Wi-Fi hotspot. If a Wi-Fi hotspot is present, replace the TF card.
  • If Wi-Fi still cannot be connected, use a thimble to press the [Reset] hole to restart the system.
  • Try turning off Bluetooth and mobile data on your phone before attempting to connect.
Q: Recorder cannot record?
A: Ensure the TF card is properly inserted and formatted on the device. Confirm that the TF card is a high-speed Class 10 brand original card.
Q: Forgot Wi-Fi password or can't find Wi-Fi?
A: Press and hold the camera button for 5-10 seconds to restore factory settings. The factory default Wi-Fi hotspot is "CARDV..." and the password is "12345678".
Q: How to format the memory card?
A: Open the "Viidure" app, connect to the recorder's Wi-Fi, enter the recorder settings, and click "Format memory card".
Q: The photo button doesn't work?
A: Check whether the key bar cable is loose or damaged.
Q: The recorder did not record or recorded a noise?
A:
  • If there is no sound in the recording, check if the key cable is loose.
  • If there is recording noise, it may be due to the Wi-Fi antenna. Check the DVR Wi-Fi antenna and try moving it to change its position.
Q: The car starts the DVR and it automatically shuts down after one minute?
A: Check whether the red ACC wire is powered on correctly.
Q: Mobile phone system compatibility issues with the app?
A: If the "Viidure" app cannot be downloaded or enabled, you may try alternative apps like "Timacam" or "Roadcam" as a reference.
