Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the EGBO 3S 12V Lithium Battery UPS Module. This module is designed to provide an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for various DC12V applications, featuring automatic switching between charging and discharging modes. It is suitable for use with 3-string lithium or polymer battery packs, including 18650 batteries. It can provide continuous power for devices such as computers, network equipment (transmitters, cameras, switches), and infrared devices.
Setup Instructions
Careful wiring is crucial for the safe and proper operation of the UPS module. Please follow these steps precisely.

Connection Steps
- Input Power Connection: Connect your DC12V power source to the "IN+" and "IN-" terminals on the module. Ensure correct polarity.
- Output Load Connection: Connect your DC12V load to the "OUT+" and "OUT-" terminals. Ensure correct polarity.
- Battery Pack Connection: This module is designed for 3-string lithium or polymer battery packs (e.g., 18650 battery packs). Connect the battery pack to the "B+", "B-", "V1", "V2", and "V3" terminals.
- Important: Connect the battery pack as the last step after all other connections are secure.
- The default battery pack connection uses 2 lines (positive and negative terminals). For 4-wire connections, you may need to remove resistors R16, R17, and R18. Refer to the detailed diagram for specific resistor locations.
Wiring Best Practices
- Use at least 20AWG wire for both input and output connections to ensure adequate current handling and minimize voltage drop.
- Keep wire lengths as short as possible, ideally under 10cm, especially for high-current paths, to reduce resistance and heat generation.
- Maintain a certain distance between the module and the battery pack to prevent heat transfer and ensure proper ventilation.
Operating Instructions
The EGBO UPS module operates automatically to ensure continuous power to your connected devices.
Automatic Switching
When external DC12V input power is present, the module charges the connected battery pack while simultaneously supplying power to the load. If the external power supply is interrupted, the module automatically switches to draw power from the battery pack, providing an uninterruptible power supply to your devices.
LED Indicator
The module features a self-configured red/green 3mm common anode LED indicator:
- Red Light: Indicates that the battery pack is currently charging.
- Green Light: Indicates that the battery pack is fully charged.
Heat Dissipation
The control board will generate heat during operation, especially under high load or during charging. Ensure adequate ventilation around the module. If integrating into an enclosure, consider passive or active cooling solutions to prevent overheating.
Maintenance
- Keep the module clean and free from dust and debris.
- Avoid exposing the module to moisture or extreme temperatures outside its operating range (-40°C to 80°C).
- Periodically check all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
- Ensure the battery pack connected is in good condition and compatible with the module's specifications.
