7. Troubleshooting

7.1. Compatibility Issues

If your P4 HUD is not displaying data or functioning correctly, first verify your vehicle's OBD2 compatibility. Refer to section 3.1 and 3.2 for detailed compatibility information. If your vehicle is listed as incompatible or is an older model, the OBD2 system may not work. In such cases, the GPS mode can still provide essential driving data.

7.2. General Malfunctions

  • No Power: Ensure the OBD2 cable is securely connected to both the HUD and the vehicle's OBD2 port. Check if the vehicle's ignition is on.
  • Incorrect Data Display: Verify that the correct mode (OBD2 or GPS) is selected based on your vehicle's compatibility. If in OBD2 mode, ensure your vehicle supports the displayed parameters.
  • Screen Freezing/Unresponsive: Disconnect the HUD from the OBD2 port, wait a few seconds, and then reconnect it. This will perform a soft reset.
  • Alarms Not Functioning: Check the system settings to ensure alarm functions are enabled and configured correctly.

8. User Tips

  • Check Compatibility for Older Vehicles: For vehicles manufactured around 2008 or earlier, especially American, French, Italian, and some Japanese/Korean models, always double-check OBD2 compatibility using the methods described in section 3.1. If OBD2 is not supported, the GPS mode will still provide valuable speed and navigation data.
  • Customize Display: Experiment with the 7 different display styles and various atmosphere light settings to find the combination that best suits your driving preferences and interior aesthetics.
  • Secure Installation: Use the provided non-slip mat and adjustable bracket to ensure the HUD is securely mounted and does not move during driving, maintaining clear visibility.
  • Regular Updates: The manufacturer regularly provides system updates to add special vehicle support, themes, and optimizations. Check for available updates to ensure optimal performance.
