3. Product Overview

  1. On/Off Button / Voice Assistant: Powers the device on/off and activates the AI voice assistant.
  2. Multi-function Button: Controls play/pause for music, answers/hangs up calls, and features a blue breathing light.

5. Setup

5.1. Installation on Helmet

The D3X headset can be installed on various helmet types using the provided clip-on base and Velcro pads. Choose the appropriate microphone (soft for full-face helmets, hard for open-face helmets) for your helmet type.

  1. Attach the clip-on base to the side of your helmet. Ensure it is securely fastened.
  2. Alternatively, use the Host Velcro to adhere the D3X device directly to the helmet surface.
  3. Connect the chosen microphone and speakers to the Speaker & Microphone Interface (4).
  4. Position the speakers inside the helmet's ear pockets and secure them with the Mark Velcro pads.
  5. Route the microphone to a suitable position near your mouth, ensuring it does not obstruct your vision or helmet closure.

5.2. Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the D3X headset.

  1. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the Charging Port (3) on the D3X device.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a suitable USB power source (e.g., computer, USB wall adapter).
  3. The Charging Indicator (red) will illuminate during charging.
  4. Charging typically takes approximately 2.5 hours. The indicator light may change or turn off once fully charged.

5.3. Bluetooth Pairing

Pair your D3X headset with your smartphone or other Bluetooth devices.

  1. Ensure the D3X headset is powered off.
  2. Press and hold the On/Off Button (1) until the Wireless Indicator (blue) starts flashing rapidly, indicating pairing mode.
  3. On your smartphone, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  4. Select "D3X" from the list of found devices.
  5. Once paired, the Wireless Indicator (blue) will typically slow its flashing or remain solid.
  6. The D3X supports connecting to two wireless devices simultaneously. Repeat the pairing process for a second device if desired.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the On/Off Button (1) until you hear an audible prompt or see the indicator light.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the On/Off Button (1) until you hear an audible prompt or the indicator light turns off.

6.2. Intercom Function

The D3X features a half-duplex intercom function, allowing communication with an unlimited number of other D3X users within an effective distance of 600 meters.

  • Activate Intercom: Short press the Mode Button (6) to switch to Half-Duplex intercom mode. The Half-Duplex Indicator (blue) will illuminate.
  • Communicate: Speak into your microphone. Other connected D3X users within range will hear you.
  • Exit Intercom: Short press the Mode Button (6) again to cycle through modes and exit intercom.

6.3. Music Playback and Sharing

Enjoy your music and share it with fellow riders.

  • Play/Pause: Short press the Multi-function Button (2).
  • Next Track: Short press the Next Song / Volume Up Button (8).
  • Previous Track: Short press the Previous Song / Volume Down Button (7).
  • Volume Up: Long press the Next Song / Volume Up Button (8).
  • Volume Down: Long press the Previous Song / Volume Down Button (7).
  • Music Sharing: In music mode, short press the Mode Button (6) to activate Music Sharing. The Music Sharing Indicator (blue) will illuminate. One person can share music with multiple people within a 10-meter effective distance.

6.4. Phone Calls

Manage incoming calls safely while riding.

  • Auto Answer: The D3X can be set to automatically answer incoming calls. This feature can be toggled between automatic and manual answer modes.
  • Answer Call: Short press the Multi-function Button (2).
  • End Call: Short press the Multi-function Button (2).
  • Reject Call: Long press the Multi-function Button (2).

6.5. AI Voice Assistant

Access your smartphone's AI voice assistant for hands-free control.

  • Activate Voice Assistant: Short press the On/Off Button (1).
  • Exit Voice Assistant: Short press the On/Off Button (1) again.

7. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your D3X headset, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Water Resistance: The D3X is IP56 waterproof and dustproof. While it can withstand rain and splashes, avoid submerging it in water. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed when not charging.
  • Storage: Store the headset in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Care: For long-term storage, charge the battery to about 50% every few months to prevent deep discharge.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your D3X headset, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
