4. Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the life and performance of your battery.

  • Regular Charging: Charge the battery regularly, even if not in use, to maintain its health. Avoid letting the battery completely discharge for extended periods.
  • Storage: Store the battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. For long-term storage, charge the battery to about 50-60% capacity.
  • Cleaning: Keep the battery and its connectors clean and dry. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface.
  • Avoid Impact: Protect the battery from physical shocks or drops.
  • Cycle Life: The battery is designed for approximately 1000 charge cycles, after which its capacity may gradually decrease.

5. Troubleshooting

Your Reention Dorado Pro battery is equipped with a Battery Management System (BMS) to protect against various issues. If you experience problems, consider the following:

5.1 BMS Protection Features

The integrated BMS provides comprehensive protection:

  • Over Voltage Protection: Prevents damage from excessive charging voltage.
  • Over Discharge Protection: Protects cells from being discharged too low, which can cause irreversible damage.
  • Over Charge Protection: Stops charging once the battery reaches full capacity to prevent overcharging.
  • Over Current Protection: Safeguards against excessive current draw during discharge.
  • Temperature Protection: Monitors battery temperature and shuts down if it exceeds safe operating limits.
  • Balance Protection: Ensures all cells within the battery pack are charged and discharged evenly, prolonging overall battery life.

5.2 Common Issues and Solutions

  • Battery not charging: Check if the charger is properly connected to both the wall outlet and the battery. Ensure the charger's indicator light is on. Verify the AC power cord plug is correct for your region.
  • Battery not powering the bike: Ensure the battery is securely installed and locked into the frame. Check the discharge connector for any loose connections or damage. The BMS might have activated a protection mode; try disconnecting and reconnecting the battery.
  • Reduced range: This can be a sign of aging battery cells (after many cycles) or operating in very cold temperatures. Ensure proper charging habits and storage.
  • Power indicator not working: Check for physical damage. If the battery is otherwise functioning, this might be a minor fault.

If problems persist after checking these points, please contact customer support.
