4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The device is powered by a disposable 3.6V ER14505 lithium-ion battery. To install or replace the battery:

  1. Locate the battery cover on the back of the device.
  2. Flip the battery cover switch to the right to open the battery cover.
  3. Insert the ER14505 lithium-ion battery into the compartment, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close the battery cover and secure it by flipping the switch to the left.

Note:

  • The Type-C port at the bottom provides power supply.
  • The rubber plug for the Type-C port is NOT waterproof when it is open.

4.2 External Probe Connection (A57 BT Only)

For the A57 BT model, an external temperature and humidity probe can be connected to expand measurement capabilities:

  1. Locate the probe input jack on the device.
  2. Connect the standard 2m temperature and humidity probe or an optional 1m piercing temperature probe to the jack.

4.3 Mounting the Device

The data logger can be easily placed in various locations using its built-in magnets or wall mounting holes:

  • Magnetic Adsorption: Simply attach the device to any suitable metal surface.
  • Wall Mounting: Use the provided wall hanging screws and expansion plugs to secure the device to a wall.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off and Recording

  • Power On: Press and hold the yellow 'Start' button to turn on the device.
  • Start Recording: Once powered on, press the yellow 'Start' button to begin data logging.
  • Stop Recording: Press the blue 'Stop' button to cease data logging.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the blue 'Stop' button to turn off the device.

5.2 Setting Record Interval

The recording interval can be adjusted from 10 seconds to 24 hours. This setting is configured via the PC software or the mobile application (TempLink App).

5.3 Alarm Settings

The device supports both single and cumulative alarms for temperature and humidity thresholds. These can be configured using the PC software or mobile app.

  • Single Alarm: An alarm is triggered immediately when a single measured value reaches or exceeds the set threshold.
  • Cumulative Alarm: An alarm is triggered when the set threshold is reached and the duration of this condition meets a pre-defined delay.
  • When an alarm is triggered, the buzzer will sound and the side LED will flash.

5.4 Display Modes

The recorder can switch between displaying the maximum, minimum, and average values of the recorded data. This allows for quick confirmation of abnormal high/low temperature and humidity data.

6. Data Management

6.1 PC Software Transfer

Connect the data logger to a computer via the Type-C USB cable to manage recorded data.

  • The PC software allows direct generation and viewing of report files.
  • Data can be exported in CSV or PDF formats for quick sharing and analysis.

6.2 Mobile Bluetooth APP Transmission (TempLink)

The TempLink mobile application allows for convenient wireless data management via Bluetooth.

  • Connection: Open the TempLink App on your mobile device and connect to the A56 BT/A57 BT data logger via Bluetooth.
  • Data Viewing: View device information, real-time graphs, and recorded data directly on your phone.
  • Parameter Settings: Adjust various device settings including ID, temperature units, date & time, screen mode, backlight, buzzer, LED indicators, temporary PDF generation, recording mode, start-up method, starting delay, recording interval, button stop function, restart-up behavior, and alarm thresholds.
  • Data Export: Export data in PDF, Excel (.csv), or combined PDF/Excel (.csv) formats.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

To maintain the device's performance and appearance:

  • Wipe the exterior of the data logger with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the casing or display.
  • Ensure no liquids enter the sensor vents or USB port.

7.2 Battery Care

  • The device uses a disposable 3.6V ER14505 lithium-ion battery. Replace it when the battery indicator shows low power.
  • For extended use or when the battery is depleted, the device can be powered via the USB Type-C port.
  • If storing the device for a long period, it is recommended to remove the battery to prevent leakage.

7.3 Storage

  • Store the data logger in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • The storage temperature range is -40℃ to 85℃ (without battery) or -40℃ to 60℃ (including ER14505 battery).

8. Troubleshooting

  • Device not turning on: Ensure the ER14505 battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Try connecting via USB Type-C for power.
  • No data recording: Check the recording mode and interval settings in the mobile app or PC software. Ensure recording has been initiated using the 'Start' button.
  • Bluetooth connection issues: Verify that Bluetooth is enabled on both the data logger and your mobile device. Ensure the device is within the Bluetooth range and the TempLink app is open and attempting to connect.
  • Inaccurate readings: Ensure the sensor vents are not obstructed. For the A57 BT, check that the external probe is securely connected. Place the device in a stable environment away from direct heat sources or drafts.
  • Alarm not triggering: Review the alarm threshold and delay settings in the mobile app or PC software to ensure they are configured as desired. Check if the alarm switch is enabled.
  • PC software not recognizing device: Ensure the USB Type-C cable is properly connected and the PC software is installed correctly. Try restarting the software or your computer.
