Setup
Binding Procedure
The R12F receiver is typically factory-bound to its corresponding transmitter. However, if you acquire a new R12F receiver or need to re-bind, follow these steps:
- Power On Transmitter: Turn on your compatible Radiolink transmitter (e.g., T12D).
- Access RF Settings: Navigate to the main menu on your transmitter, then select "Receiver Settings" and then "RF Settings".
- Select Module: Set the "MODULE SELEC" option to "Internal".
- Choose Protocol: Select the appropriate protocol. The R12F supports FHSS V1, V2, and V2.1. FHSS V2.1 is recommended for 16-channel support. FHSS V1 and V2 protocols support 8 channels. Refer to the table below for protocol details and compatible receivers.
- Power On Receiver: Connect a 2S LiPo battery (or any 3-12V power source) to the R12F receiver. The red LED on the receiver will flash rapidly, indicating it is not yet bound.
- Position Receiver: Keep the receiver approximately 30 cm (12 inches) away from the transmitter.
- Initiate Binding: Use a small tool to press and hold the tiny black binding button located on the side of the receiver. Continue holding until the red LED on the receiver begins to flash rapidly.
- Confirm Binding: Once binding is successful, the red LED on the receiver will turn solid, and a signal tower icon will appear on the transmitter's screen. If binding fails, the LED will continue to flash slowly; repeat the steps.
- Test Functionality: To verify, connect a servo to Channel 1 of the receiver and move the corresponding joystick on the transmitter. The servo should respond.
Receiver Protocol and Compatibility
| Protocol | PWM Output Resolution | Servo Output | Channel Number | Compatible Receiver |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FHSS V1 | 2048 | 14ms | 8 | All receivers compatible with T16D |
| FHSS V2 | 4096 | 3ms/4ms/14ms available | 8 | R16F, R12F, R8FGH, R8FG V2.1, R4FGM V2.1, and R8FG and R4FGM receivers with a factory date of 2023/4/26 or later |
| FHSS V2.1 | 4096 | 3ms/4ms/14ms available | 16 | R16F, R12F |
Notes:
1. FHSS V2 and FHSS V2.1 protocol PWM output resolution level is 4096, so they can achieve a more precise operation.
2. When using R16F and 12F, if FHSS V1 or FHSS V2 protocol is selected, only 8 channels are available on the receiver.
3. After switching protocols, please re-bind the receiver and the transmitter.
Wiring and Anti-polarity Protection
The R12F receiver features anti-polarity connect protection, ensuring the receiver will not be damaged even if polarities are mistakenly connected. It supports a wide voltage range of 3-12V, allowing compatibility with high voltage servos.

Operating Modes
The R12F receiver supports multiple signal output modes, indicated by different LED combinations:
- PWM Working Mode: The Red LED is always on. All 12 channels provide PWM signal output.
- PWM+SBUS Working Mode: The Blue and Red LEDs are always on. Channels 1 to 11 provide PWM signal output, while Channel 12 provides SBUS signal output.
- PWM+CRSF+SBUS Working Mode: The Blue, Green, and Red LEDs are always on. Channels 1 to 9 provide PWM signal output, Channels 10 to 11 provide CRSF protocol output, and Channel 12 provides SBUS signal output.
- CRSF+PWM Working Mode: The Green and Red LEDs are always on. Channels 1 to 9 and Channel 12 provide PWM signal output, while Channels 10 to 11 provide CRSF protocol output.

Subsidiary ID Function
The R12F receiver supports a Subsidiary ID feature, allowing you to designate a subsidiary ID among multiple bound receivers. This is useful for specialized applications such as long-distance rescue operations with model cars/boats, parent-child entertainment, or friend teaching scenarios, where one transmitter can control multiple models with specific roles.

Control Distance
The R12F offers impressive control distances:
- Offshore Control: Up to 600 meters stable control distance.
- Air Control: Up to 4000 meters control distance.
Note: Maximum range is tested in an unobstructed area free of interference. Actual range may vary based on environmental conditions.

Maintenance
Firmware Upgrades
The R12F receiver supports online firmware upgrades to ensure you have access to the latest features and performance enhancements. To upgrade the firmware:
- Connect the R12F receiver to your computer using a Type-C cable (for data transmission).
- Visit the official Radiolink website (www.radiolink.com/r12f) to download the latest firmware and any necessary update tools.
- Follow the specific instructions provided with the firmware update package.

Troubleshooting
- Binding Failure: If the receiver's LED continues to flash slowly after attempting to bind, ensure the correct protocol is selected on the transmitter and repeat the binding procedure, maintaining the recommended distance.
- No Signal or Intermittent Signal: Check all cable connections to the receiver and ensure the receiver is receiving adequate power (3-12V). Verify that the transmitter's protocol matches the receiver's setting. Ensure there are no significant sources of radio interference nearby.
- Servo Not Responding: Confirm that the binding process was successful. Check that the servo is correctly plugged into the intended channel on the receiver and that the servo itself is functional.
