1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the CHIYI C80 Wireless Tattoo Transfer Stencil Printer. This portable A4 thermal printer is designed for creating high-quality tattoo stencils directly from your phone, iPad, or PC. It utilizes thermal printing technology, eliminating the need for carbon ribbons or ink. Please read this manual carefully to ensure proper usage and maintenance of your device.

3. Product Overview

3.1 Appearance and Components

  • Open Key: Press the left and right open keys simultaneously to open the cover.
  • Power Key: Press and hold for 2 seconds to turn on/off. Double-press for a self-test page print. Triple-press to retract paper.
  • Upper Cover: Protects the internal mechanisms.
  • Print Head: The thermal element responsible for printing.
  • Lower Cover: The base of the printer.
  • USB Interface: For connecting to a computer via USB cable.

5. Setup and Connection

5.1 App Download (SharpFox)

The C80 printer requires the 'SharpFox' app for mobile printing. Scan the QR code below or search for 'SharpFox' in your device's app store.

5.2 Connecting the Printer

The printer supports both Bluetooth and USB connections.

5.2.1 Bluetooth Connection (Mobile Devices)

  1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your mobile device (iOS/Android).
  2. For Android, also enable Location services and grant SharpFox access.
  3. Open the SharpFox App and tap "Connect Device".
  4. The app will scan for available thermal printers. Select "C80_XXXX_LE" (or similar) to connect.
  5. The blue indicator light on the printer will become solid when successfully connected.

5.2.2 USB Connection (PC)

  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. Connect the printer to your computer using the provided USB cable.
  3. Install the necessary drivers as described in the next section.

5.3 Driver Installation (Windows/macOS)

Before installing drivers, temporarily turn off your computer's antivirus software.

Visit https://help.flashlabel.com and search for keyword "C80" to download the appropriate driver.

5.3.1 Windows Driver Installation

  1. Turn on the printer and connect it to your computer via USB cable.
  2. Double-click the downloaded compressed driver file to extract and run the installer.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.
  4. Important: Select the correct corresponding printer driver (C80) before printing.

5.3.2 macOS Driver Installation

  1. Turn on the printer and connect it to your computer via USB cable.
  2. Double-click the downloaded compressed driver file to extract and run the installer.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts. You may need to enter your password or use Touch ID to allow the driver to install.
  4. Complete the installation.

5.4 Paper Installation

The C80 printer supports A4, US Letter, and US Legal paper sizes, which can be adjusted using the paper switch.

5.4.1 Tattoo Transfer Paper Installation

  1. Remove the yellow bottom paper, ensuring the adhesive part remains intact.
  2. Remove the white protective paper.
  3. Power on the printer. Ensure the white tracing paper is face down and the blue transfer paper is face up. Insert the paper from the back of the printer. The printer will automatically feed the paper.
  4. After printing, gently peel off the white tracing paper to reveal the stencil.

5.4.2 Folded Paper Installation

  1. Take out the thermal paper and ensure the printing side is correct. Make sure the paper roll is taken out from the thermal printer.
  2. Ensure the front side of the thermal paper is aligned with the paper inlet. Insert the paper until it sticks inside the printer and is ready for printing.
  3. Tear off the paper after printing.

6. Operation

6.1 Printing a Tattoo Stencil

  1. Prepare Paper: Remove the protective page (transparent whitesheet) from the tattoo transfer paper.
  2. Insert Paper: Open the printer and insert the transfer paper with the yellow paper facing up.
  3. Connect and Print: Download the 'Tattoo Print' App and connect via Bluetooth (for phone/iPad) or USB cable (for computer). Select your design and initiate printing.
  4. Transfer: Once printed, cut out the pattern and transfer it onto the skin using stencil ointment.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. Shut down the printer, open the printer cover, and take out any paper.
  2. Dip a cotton cloth or cotton swab in medical alcohol. Gently wipe the printing head from the center outwards.
  3. After cleaning, do not use the printer immediately. Wait 1-2 minutes for the alcohol to completely evaporate.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Printer head overheated (Flashing Red and Green): The printer will automatically resume once the print head cools down. Allow it to rest.
  • Low electric quantity (Flashing Red): Charge the printer.
  • Bluetooth initialization failed (Flashing Blue): Close the app, restart the printer, and wait for the blue light to become solid before reconnecting the app.
  • Printer struggles to print: Ensure paper is loaded correctly (yellow side up for transfer paper), the paper size switch is set appropriately, and the printer is not overheated or low on battery. Check for any paper jams.
  • Poor print quality: Ensure the transfer paper is fresh and correctly inserted. Adjust the concentration settings in the app if available.

9. Safety and Precautions

  • The product does not include a power adapter. Use a certified 5V/2A power adapter that meets standards.
  • This is a professional product; use the original battery.
  • The printer has a built-in lithium battery. Do not use it in environments with temperatures higher than 40°C. Keep away from fire and other heat sources. Do not place it in direct hot sun or a closed car.
  • Children should use and charge the device under adult supervision.
  • After full charge, disconnect the charging line promptly to prevent overheating, short circuits, or fire.
  • Do not put the product in fire or water to avoid battery short circuits or burns.
  • Operating environment: 0℃-40℃ ambient temperature, 30%-85% RH (non-condensing) humidity. Do not exceed the recommended temperature range.
  • If you suspect a battery problem, contact customer support.

10. User Tips

  • Always ensure the tattoo transfer paper is inserted with the yellow side facing up for optimal results.
  • If print quality seems low, try adjusting the 'concentration' setting within the SharpFox app.
  • For consistent performance, keep the printer charged and avoid letting the battery drain completely during use.
  • When printing from a PC, remember to select the correct C80 printer driver in your print settings.
